The TFP Mileage with your feet challenge.....
OK, so we've got situps and pushups. I'm gonna start one about mileage, because I'm sure that some of us actually put miles on our feet rather than our arms or abs.
At one time, a looooong time ago, I used to go 1.5 to 3 miles at a stretch. With a 50 pound pack on my back. With a 750' change in elevation. That was the most rockin' shape I had been in. So now, I want to recreate that, but alas, I don't have a 750' climb any longer. All I can do is either add more weight or add more mileage. So to start, I'm going 3 miles with 20 lbs on my back. Once my calves and ankles start unwussifying themselves, I'll add on more weight. So, just for the sake of longevity, let's make the challenge a cool million.... And to kick it off, I've done 15 miles since I started my hiking. So, 15 miles. |
I ran 12 miles with 65 pounds on my back over a mountain at night in the March cold of Missouri. 2 hours 37 minutes.
I was really tired afterwards. ... Good thread, bro. I'll add the real deal later. |
Not so inclined to tell, but it best be said: We already have a similar thread well under way, but with a delightful extra to keep us trekking with a goal in sight.
The TFP "Race Across the World" Challenge!!! Join in. :) |
Yeah, I remember that one.
Is that running or hiking? Nevermind. |
