Dogs - grooming
So my little girl usually sheds twice a year; onece around summer and another I think in the late fall/winter. She's a mutt and has fur, not hair.
I used to use a doggie shampoo but now I just use my shampoo. I honestly don't see any difference. So, any ideas on how I can reduce the shedding or is it "normal"? |
I prefer human shampoo to dog shampoo... it smells better and kills more fleas. )(I have found)
When shed season grows near I usually up the grooming schedule. This doesnt prevent our little presents of furballs on the furniture, but it does cut down on it vastly. Shed season thankfully isnt very long and daily or twice daily grooming should do the trick. (Depending on how much of a grooming nightmare you have for a pet) |
Actually, last year I remember a 1-2 hours session of grooming pretty much solved that (the "shedding"). I guess I brushed it out. I just kept brushing and brushing until there were no more fur in the brush to remove. My dog loves the brushing too! Spoiled....

My cats brush themselves... all I have to do is hold the brush.
