Alcohol Laws
So I've been hauling empty beer cans and liquor bottles in the trunk of my car for a while, I'll dump them eventually but in the meantime, I'm wondering if I'm breaking the law.
They're all completely empty, and I don't know if being underage (I, uh, didn't drink the stuff, someone else did  ) is going to affect legality. |
I don't think it should, since a) they're in the trunk, b) they can't tell you anything about it if your blood tests turn out negative.

ahh, unless you can return them for refund, why do you have them?
stop in some bushes and get rid of them! :) |

Really..I don't see what the issue would be but since you are underage it's better to play it safe and go ahead and dump them. |
Under most state laws you only violate the open container law if the container is in a place where the driver can reach it. So you shouldn't get a DUI for it.
Still, you're kinda playing with fire if you're underage. Any pissed off cap who opens your trunk will assume that the booze was yours, and will cite you no matter how old the bottles are. You can fight it, but that'd be much more of a pain in the ass then just getting rid of them. |
Just throw em out, they probably smell terrible anyways.
