				How to contact city official?

There is a traffic light I have to pass through everday going to work that takes forever to change and is not motioned detected, on top of that it will only last for like 5 seconds before it changes to red. Who can I contact to fix this? Thank you

Go to your city's website. The address should be...

	www.ci.(city name).(2 letter state abbreviation).us For example, Seattle is: www.ci.seattle.wa.us |

You can contact the city but they may not be responsible for the light. If the light is along a road which is a county road, it will be the counties problem. If it is a state road, the states problem. Just something to keep in mind.

Have all the facts at hand before you call. Exact intersection with street names, which direction it is causing trouble for you, etc. And be polite. Don't tell them that you pay their salary.

Another note is that traffic signal timing is generally based on months of traffic study. Each light is timed to keep traffic moving along a particular road. Changing one light means changing them all.

If you do manage to get someone's attention about this light, don't expect anything to happen overnight. The red tape involved in city government is mind boggling. I work here and can't believe it. Good luck.
