How to make Microwave Heat Packs
I have purchased several of these but want to make one. Not with rice though, rice gives off moist heat and I'm looking for dry heat. Any help would be great! Thanks

I have no idea whether its hot or dry, but I've heard beans/peas work.
Love the sig, btw. |
Be carefull you use something without a hard shell (like corn), i realize you probably know this but it would have unfortunate results if you did use corn...

Take (1) ziplock bag and one damp washcloth. Place washcloth in bag. Do not seal. Microwave. Fold the air out. Seal. Wrap in another washcloth or apply over T-shit.

Flax seeds.... put them in a cloth bag or a sock... microwave for a minute or two...
Enjoy. They hold heat for quite some time. |
Yea i have always heard flax seeds work the best.

My mom has made quite a few of these using fabric for the outside and rice or birdseed (not sure what type, just the small 'generic' birdseed). The ones she made were sewn on one end then filled and she sewed the other end up. She also sometimes put some lavender something-or-another in there to make them smell good. Just some thoughts. She says they work well for muscles or for cramps :D
