What is the Red Cock?
 

I've been reading Sophies world for an English course at college and in the marx section Scrooge yells "The red cock has crowed!" what is this red cock and whats its siginafice to communism?

I looked brefily at google but all i got was something about the end of the world. :S is this what it actually is?

that's a good question. unfortunately, i've never read sophies world. if i had to guess, i would say that since roosters like to crow at sunrise, then it means that something has begun. and since the rooster is red, then he must symbolize a side, or person. just a guess.

I haven't read it either, but I think Pinoy's right. It's the "dawn" of communism or of communism's rule. Whatever you can make fit.

ah so in that sence (sp) the night of capitalism has ended and now the people are revolting against it at the dawn of communism. Thanks guys.
