Beer bong (Beer funnel) [NSFW]
What is the cheapest/easiest way to make a beer bong/beer funnel.
"Frank the Tank!" "When it hits your lips, it's so good!" |
Uh... a funnel and some rubber tubing?
|
Y'know those Pink Flamingos you see on lawns in trailer parks? Steal one, then snip off the beak to create a hole about the size of a dime, then cut a bigger hole in the bird's butt. Invert and cover the beak-hole with your thumb, pour beer in the bird's ass and away you go.
Be sure to give your flamingo bong a name, I suggest; Roy. Optional: You may want to clean it and remove the legs too. |
An aquarium cleaner works well. It is basically a big hose with a funnel on one end.
|
Home depot has a nice selection of funnels, and enough rubber tubing that will fit.
Try to aim for a minimum of two beers per funnel (account for foam as well), a 3-4 beer bong is a blast. Where the funnel meets the tubing, try to get a metal circular-thingy (it's a metal ribbon in a circle, with a scew in it, you tighten the screw and the circle gets smaller) to prevent leaks. |
|
Don't use rubber tubing use vinyl tubbing (clear).
I used to work at a hardware store for 6 years as a young lad. Every friday night and saturday night someone would come in for the following. 1. Funnel 2. 3 to 6 feet of clear vinyl tubing 3. hose clamp (that tightens with a screw) I've seen people use 5 funnels connected to a board nailed to a balcony with 6 foot tubes for multiple bongs. I've seen two funnels connected with tube and a y connector for mixing drinks. Or even valves at the end so you can load the drink without holding it closed with your thumb. Make sure the tube is clear so they can see their progress. |

Go to home depot, find shady-esque looking employee, ask for beer bong. They'll build one for you. At least they've done it for me a couple times out here in AZ.
|
Funnel... clamps... you dont need to stinking clamp... home depot... biggest funnel they have... get i belive 3/4 vinyl tubing, your thumb should be able to block it... about 4 feet will do you. Then when you get all this home throw some water on the stove, or microwave... long story short you want some hot hot water. Put the end of the tube in the hot water for a few minutes then put the funnel on something flat and push the now hot end of the tubing on as hard as you can to the funnel... No ugly clamp, no leaks... just a sexxy sexxy funnel
|
If you really want to go all out, use some big hose (1 inch? diameter) and a pvc ball valve, then a reducer so its easier to fit in your mouth.
finally, drink to your health! |
be sure to rinse it all first! No need to have hardware store dust in yo beer!
|
A warning regarding vavles for beer funnels. I've seen vavles that had the tubing slide onto them come free. The result is a much faster emptying of the funnel - all over the front of your shirt, pants and the floor.
Though it might make a fun novelty for those folks who are pretty smashed already |

Yeah, who was the jackass who said you don't need a clamp? Looking at you 420star! |
Made a bong as stated before while stationed in Germany and took it to a party with a bunch of my GF's friends (all Germans.) They had never seen one before and named it the "accelerator." Not really on topic but seeing German kids bong wine and beer by the liter was fun.
I highly suggest the clamp. Autoparts stores also sell big funnels some with much higher capacity thatn Home Depot. DO NOT use heater hose from the auto parts store, it doesn't hold up well to booze and I wouldn't want to drink it. Stick with clear. |

I'll have to post a picture of mine from long ago. I had a 5' long 1.5" Dia. vinyl tube from the aquarium store. Then I put a 2 quart funnel on the top. It was a mean beer bong and would hold about 6-8 beers. You had to kneel to use it. I took it to my Senior week and put all the other tiny beer bongs to shame.

Is it me or does that toon look like that hottie Latina from Desparate Housewives? Eva Longoria?
Anyway, all I have new to add is be sure to THOROUGHLY clean it after each use. Beer Bongs get really funky really fast if not taken care of. -Mikey |

It also helps of you place the plastic tubing and put it in some really hot (not boiling water) so that it becomes soft of malleable. Once its soft, you can slide it over the funnel and it will become harder than before once it cools and be very difficult to remove from the funnel. This also removes the need for getting a clamp or something.
|
bye a plastic funnel with handle and some cheap tubing.....just recently did it and worked fine

If you want to go food grade from top to bottom, go to a homebrew supply store. They have bigass funnels for filling carboys (the big glass bottles like they used to put on water coolers) and usually a couple different widths of food grade vinyl tubing. You're still going to need to hit the hardware store for the hose clamp, but that's going to be a buck or less. Done this way, the beer won't taste any different at the bottom of the bong than it does at the top (if you keep it clean).

tman17m that's nothin...at DePauw University we made a three story beer bong out the back of my fraternity...too bad there was about two stories of foam for the birthday boy
|
Did you guys see this 30-person beer bong?

I made 2 at home depot. I bought about six feet and two funnels. Clear plastic tube is the way to go.
Measured out a beer in the tube, marked it, drank the beer, cut the hose. Viola! It was pretty funny buying the tube and then asking the guy working there where the funnels were. |
