Diary of a Madman (HELP!!!)
I have to write a paper on Lu Xun's Diary of a Madman for World Lit.
I can write about anything I want. The problem is I can't think of anything. I'm certainly not looking for anybody to write my paper for me, but maybe you could kickstart my brain with some ideas. If you give me a great topic, I'll be your new best friend. :icare: I eagerly await. |
Well, let's see, Ozzy wrote a song about it. Compare the original with the song.
|
is it comparative?
if not, discuss the allegorical nature of the concept of 'chi ren' ? |
You should be sure to mention that Lu Xun is a little punk in the Dynasty Warriors series.

I don't know if Ozzy's song was based off of Nikolai Gogol's Diary of a Madman or Lu Xun's. Don't get confused! Or maybe you can do a comparison of the two? I haven't read Gogol's short story so I can't help you there. As for Lu Xun's, yeah, like losthellhound says, talk about what "eating people" means. That sounds like a pretty good topic. Or you can write about something totally different like the guy's disorder. Or talk about recurring themes like the children, being ghostly pale, etc. Or talk about how China's reaction to this was -- written in "plain language" and about such a weird, maybe even taboo topic? Or how about entry 9, I liked that one a lot. That's all I can think of for now; good luck with your paper!

Actually, Ozzy is based off Gogol, but that's another thing you could do, compare the two books.
|
Thanks for all the ideas.
I ended up writing an allegorical paper. That seemed to flow the easiest when I started writing. It's about the story, the May Fourth Revolution, Confucious, blah blah blah. I desperately wanted to do the "dynasty warriors" angle, but I don't think the instructor would've gone for that. |

Well, I applaud you for considering it. :) |
