Turkish Things
Why are turkish towels so soft and cuddly, turkish delight so delicious, but turkish toilets disgusting?
This question came up tonight as we were shopping for new towels. Delightful culture - but one terrible stereotype throws it all off. I'm stumped. |
Don't forget Turkish prisons
|
Well, I think that it's a cultural thing. The Turks obviously don't think their toilets are that bad - just like the Chinese.
|
The Turks don't think the Chinese are bad?
I think I may have misunderstood... |
Chinese toilets are basically the same setup and are equally bad. The most disgusting toilet I've ever been in was in Beijing about 3 miles from Tianamen Square. But I've never been to Turkey and hear that it's pretty similar.
|
Turkish Delight, on the other hand, is delightful.
|
Hence the modifier... Delight.
I am also a fan of Turkish Coffee and Turkish Ice Cream. |
im assuming that chinese toilets and turkish toilets are the same thing.
ive never been to china, but was in Turkey a few months back. i only ever saw normal toilets. however, im assuming you are talking about the hole in the floor toilets? what was your experience with it? and why did you find it so disgusting? its quite common in the mid east. if i have a preference id use the normal toilet, but if i dont have a choice, then ill use what i got. i didnt have a choice a few times. its wasnt an all bad experience..good workout for the legs |
