QS9000 what is it and who would it affect?
Really, i never see this unless im working for a huge company.. never small time stuff. Yet i know it has something to do with safety and such... anyone?

QS9000 was a quality (not safety) standard developed by the autootive industry as an expansion on ISO9001/2.
As at December 2006, QS9000 was replaced by ISO/TS 16949. |
As Daniel said, it's quality related, not directly safety...even though tangentially it touches every aspect of operations including safety.
We're what I would consider a "small" manufacturing company...gross sales under 10 million U.S. dollars...and our Quality System is ISO certified to ISO9001-2000...it expires Jan. 2009 so we'll have to get audited again and our QA guy tells me it will be to the new "ISO9001-2008" QA Standards. This will give you a summary of what it's about: http://ezinearticles.com/?ISO-9001-2...hem&id=1058581 |
woot Thanks.. my google searches netted me companies that were compliant... was annoying.
