Idea for doors
So because of drunkenness my roommate and I now have a broken door. Well not so much a broken door but a broken door frame. We figre this is a good time to improve our room though. Its an inner door in a fraternity house, what can we do to make it cool/artistic/creative/badass or what not. Either replacing it with something completely different, building something, or modifying the current door.

Beaded curtains for a door... it's what all the cool kids are doing:

Simple solution for something unique. depending on how busted your old door is, you can add an old western saloon style door. It's simple to do and very cost efficient. All you have to buy is four 180 degree springed hinges, a tape measure and a saw. Just carefully measure out the existing frame and walk through. Mount hinges on each side of the wall. Crop and cut the door down the middle. Bam, No more setting down an armful of drinks to turn a door knob. You can do it put your ass into it ;)

The saloon door is interesting and we thought about it with the real saloon type doors. A lock could be added but i think it would be to dangerous in this type of environment, lol.

Or you could always just hang a door handle from a string...

Okay this isn't too nice, but it's what I thought of first. Install a two way mirror on the door. Leave the door open all of the time except for when your roomate is having sex with a hot girl or said girl and her friends are using the room to change their clothes. Then you and your friends can set up camp in the hall and have the best peep show ever.
Beats having to hide in the closet. ;) |
make it a giant swinging dog door so no matter how drunk you get you can stumble into it and it swings open and out of the way.
