aquarium wood seal

hi all,

i built this aquarium stand and will post pictures for you curious at heart. then we built the canopy and want to seal the inside from warping due to the spray. i thought using normal thompson's would somehow harm the fish and the tank. so does anyone have any ideas or experience with sealing the wood above the aquarium safely? TIA

Seems like most anything you use in such an enclosed space might harm the fish.

Screw a sheet of perspex over it using brass screws.

is it going to be freshwater or saltwater?

Thompsons is fine but if you are planning to use a retrofit light that has a high heat output, ie metal halides, you will have to use a 1/2" spacer to mount the retrofit and fans blowing in* from the sides and few "grilles" on the top of the canopy to vent out the heat.

*if you use the fan to blow out, the moisture will shorten the life of the fan, especially in SW applications
