aquarium wood seal
hi all,
i built this aquarium stand and will post pictures for you curious at heart. then we built the canopy and want to seal the inside from warping due to the spray. i thought using normal thompson's would somehow harm the fish and the tank. so does anyone have any ideas or experience with sealing the wood above the aquarium safely? TIA |
Seems like most anything you use in such an enclosed space might harm the fish.

Screw a sheet of perspex over it using brass screws.

is it going to be freshwater or saltwater?

Thompsons is fine but if you are planning to use a retrofit light that has a high heat output, ie metal halides, you will have to use a 1/2" spacer to mount the retrofit and fans blowing in* from the sides and few "grilles" on the top of the canopy to vent out the heat.
*if you use the fan to blow out, the moisture will shorten the life of the fan, especially in SW applications HTH |
