funny true story about kindergartners and drugs
It's not a joke, but I figured this was the right place.
The other day, I showed up at a Just Say No type rally, because we (where I work) were adopting the school and presenting them a banner. A police officer was there giving a talk, and he started out asking if anyone was going to dress up as spiderman for halloween. Response: hundreds of hands, all shouting me, me Me! Is anyone going to dress up like a ghost? Me, ME, lots of hands. This went on, until he said, in a sarcastic voice, "But is anyone going to dress up like a Drug Dealer?!!" Me, Me, ME! You'd think he would learn a lesson, but after giving a talk about the dangers of drugs to little kindergarteners which was assuredly way over their heads, he started leading them in a sort of cheer. "What are you going to say if someone offers you alcohol?" Response, in unison, "NnnnOOO!" "What are you going to say if someone offers you marijuana?" Response, in unison, "NnnnOOO!" "What are you going to say if someone offers you cigarettes?" Response, in unison, "NnnnOOO!" "What are you going to say if someone offers you cocaine?" Response, in unison, "NnnnOOO!" "What are you going to say if someone offers you any kind of drug?" Response, in unison, "NnnnOOO!" "Are you going to Just Say No to Drugs?!!!" Response, in unison, "NnnnOOO!" ![]() I think maybe just say no rallys should wait at least until the kids can actually think, say first or even second grade. |
