Former Attorney General John Ashcroft is back in the news and it reminded me of the "blue curtain" affair.

For those who dont recall, Ashcroft would hold press conferences in the main Hall of Justice in the DOJ building, where there is a partly nude "spirit of justice" female statue on the stage behind the podium.

Photographers would position themselves so that their photos would show Ashcroft just below her breasts. He became so outraged, he ordered a blue curtain to cover up the statue at future press conferences.
