5.1 headphones?

I'm posting this here because I'm looking specifically for gaming headphones, preferrably a headset, that produce genuine 5.1 sound. I've used many different pairs of stereo headphones in the past, but I'd really like something with true directional sound - the only problem is, I can't find any that get very good reviews.

The ones I'm leaning towards at the moment are these ones from Tritton. Except I don't really know who Tritton is, nor if they're very reliable.

It doesn't matter whether they're standard 3.5mm or USB connections.


Does anyone have any experience with or recommendations for 5.1 headphones?

I have owned a pair for a year and I absolutely love them. The reviewer says that he had to take a rest after wearing them for awhile but he must not be a true gamer who is accustomed to wearing headphones for hours on end. They have the 3.5mm connector standard and you can also buy a USB adapter but they say it doesnt sound as good once you hook up the USB.

As far as games and movies go they are top notch... but the quality isnt the greatest for listening to music, but you said you want it for gaming anyway.

is a link you can check out lots of good advice there, I started it a while back looking for some 'phones and I too had interest in the Zalman set.

I have had the zalmans for a couple of years now. work great, esp for flight sims.
