too long to put in quotes in this article, but suffice to say it is an excellent read from the viewpoint of several big name devs who tell it like it is.

This is one of my favorite parts:

I agree with most everything that was said. I just recently played through Fallout again, and jeez, it made me realize that you really don't need top notch graphics in order to have a game that will make you sit there for 8 hours without blinking.

And after reading the article, I realize this is the very session that FngKestrel sat in on while at the GDC last week. Small world, eh?

it cracks me up how nintendo is scapegoated for stagnating the development world when they are the only company taking hardware/interface risks.
