I have Comcast cable with a 3.0 MB down and 256 up with a ping of 70-90 on the server I play the most Now comcast has announced that the speed will increase to 4.0 MB down and 384 up, Will this help my ping any? I it does, will it be worth to upgrade to 6.0 MB down and 768 up for another 10 bucks a month

Hmmm, I think this would be more appropriate for the computer forum. However, I dought it would make much of a diffrence for gaming. Really, I can't think of a single time I have used the full speed of my modem for anything and I only get 512k. Even with only 512k I get pings in the 60-70 range. You might need the faster speed if you want to host your own small server but other than that, I don't see a reason for you to spend the extra money.

No, it won't help your ping at all. Ping is a time measurment. No games I know of can max out even a 128 upload. So, you should be just fine.

What fallen said. Ping sends a tiny amount of data to the other end, and measures the response time, it would probably be similar if you were on a dialup line to the same ISP.
