A GIRL of seven found the words "F*** off and die" on her Disney computer game.
Beki Stewart pointed out the "naughty word" to dad Mark on the opening credits of Monsters, Inc - based on the hit kids' film.

Mark, 32, had splashed out £200 on the game and two GameBoy machines to play it on for Beki and her brother Jayms, four.

The Disney/Pixar game is aimed at children aged three and over.

Mark said: "I am disgusted. This was their big Christmas present. Beki was playing and said, 'Daddy, there is a swear word.' I said there couldn't be because it was a Monsters, Inc game.

"But she said, 'Daddy, it is the F-word'. She was upset because she did not expect to see it.

"This game is for kids. If it was for adults you might expect such language. But I don't say this word in front of my daughter - and I don't expect Disney games to contain it either."

The phrase was included in the introductory text that runs as the computer game boots up.

Civil servant Mark, of North Shields, North Tyneside, added: "Surely Disney test their games or see what goes out in their name."

Disney was unavailable for comment last night.

I find it very hard to believe that something like that could slip through quality control

It's THE SUN why is anybody surprised ?

Pellaz 01-04-2005 08:10 AM

Supposedly the full text, complete with a corresponding picture. Game's apparently a pirated copy.

So Mom and Dad bought their daughter a cracked copy of a game and now are all pissy they got ripped off. This is priceless.

Here it is, though with The Sun you can never tell how likely to be true it is :)

hilarious.

Somone on Fark posted these images of the offending words. This is obviously a crackers sig. Too funny that this guy went to the paper to complain about some illegal software he bought.

Serves them right, you take your chances with pirated software

flamingdog 01-04-2005 10:24 AM

Who the fuck spells 'Jayms' like that?

Gabbyness 01-04-2005 10:27 AM

Wow, this is hilarious.

Bratwurst 01-04-2005 08:28 PM

It didn't say in the story, but I wonder if the guy bought it at a normal store and didn't realize it was a pirated copy? Then this would really get interesting.

They busted a bunch of guys in Washington DC for selling modded xbox's and pirated games right in the open in their game stores a couple months back. Hilarious. What a bunch of idiots.

Spicy McHaggis 01-05-2005 11:59 AM

There used to be screens like that on my old pirated Commodore 64 games. I didn't know people still did shout outs like that.

The real question is why this guy is giving his kids illegal games, not what those days say on their start up screens

Slavakion 01-05-2005 06:58 PM

Looking at the picture, the cart has what looks like a legitimate label on it. I bet the store ('s employees) ripped the guy off. Nobody's stupid enough to complain about warez. I hope. :|

Scorpion23 01-06-2005 05:57 AM

They had some people on fark show that the cartridge had a different label than a legal version. Wrong color, picture, etc.

Here's a link to the original comments:

Slavakion 01-06-2005 04:08 PM

What I meant was that it looks legitimate. Without anything to compare it to. It's at least not a piece of masking tape. But the label's crooked, so that might cause suspicion.
