Any chance for Diablo 3?
 

I've read a few different threads on various message boards touching on the topic of "What's next for Blizzard?" I know they have other things to get done before it like Star Craft 2 and that they probably don't want to publically say that they do have D3 in mind, but have they at least made any statements against it like "We aren't planning on creating D3?"

Look at Guild Wars if your looking for Diabloe 3. Just don't look too hard.

I believe most of Blizzard North (people who made Diablos) left the company. So no, I wouldn't be expecting a Diablo 3.

I remember them saying somewhere in an article not so long ago (I think it was maybe 2 weeks ago or so) something like this:

"We're not going to make any games anymore. We're retirering from the gaming business. We've decided to start making bras. Every men like bras. This ought to be a very profitable step for blizzard."

WoW is goign to be the closest thing to diablo 3 you're going to see in a while

Blizzard have a few problems, everything they do has to be better than the rest of their catalogue... which is pretty hard!

Epic have similar problems, UT2004 is out and its still being compared to UT...

There probably will be a diablo 3, just needs a bit of planning and work, wait until ghost and WoW are formally released then look for the next game. Hopefully if they do it it will be longer...

Dungeon Siege: better, faster, stronger. And a whole fuckload less clicking.

As much as I'd kill to see Diablo 3, that's not something Blizzard should do right now. They are in a rut as far as creative thinking goes. Almost as if they took a page right out of Capcoms very own, "Milk Your Properties For All They Are Worth" handbook. It would be refreshing to see Blizzards creative talent do something, uh... creative? A totally new series, maybe an entirely new genre or a throw back to the older ones.

But if money was their key intrest you think Diablo 3 would be next? Ha, doubt it, ever hear of a little game called Starcraft? That could use a little polishing and loving. There's the money maker right there.. so let's hope good old Blizzard isn't going to rape their poor properties rotten.

i wish d3 came out so i can start playing 24/7 and making craploads off ebay.

Have you played WoW, or even seen screenshots? Its nothing like Diablo, theres no relation whatsoever. Seriously!

Trust me, if you want the equivalent of Diablo, play Guild Wars or Dungeon Siege.

But yeah, I just saying that since blizz is releasing WoW, they arn't goign to be releasing Diablo 3 anytime soon, so might as well thing of WoW as the next diablo.

And in terms of diablo like games, Dungeon Siege and expansion are a good choice, although leveling up is not fun since characters dont have skills and you cant place stat points. Not as addicting, but still fun.

Generally, when making a sequel, gamemakers stay with the style of previously released games if they have done well. The style of the games is completely different. Your comment is like saying Halo2 could be Tetris 47, because its not out yet, we don't know!

WoW is a completely new direction for Blizzard, even if it does use the background of the Warcraft games. Not that MMORPG are exactly new or original though ;)

I would bet on Starcraft 2 being their next game though... millions of Koreans still play Starcraft every day.

but sooner or later,there will be a diablo 3,like there was a war craft 3;it is only a question of time.
i could imagine that it will have 3d graphics;diablo with good graphics,thyt would be awesome.

IMO i would like to see starcraft 2 before diablo 3... or a complete new step in the series... If i want dialbo 3 i think guild wars is a great game with a similar design and made by a lot of designers form diablo 2...

they have one unannounced project currently... i wonder what it will be ? :)
