Loaded d20s

Greetings, everyone.

I am an avid tabletop gamer, and it seems that more and more games nowadays are shifting to a d20-based system, or at least those that are d20 have become increasing popular.

Just out of curiousity, are there any websites that sell loaded d20s (for those unaware, a d20 is a twenty-sided die)? Or, how would someone go about loading or shaving a d20?

You know, just out of curiousity...
It's not like I'd actually cheat or anything...
Even when a critical hit could really be useful...
Why are you looking at me like that?

Uh, why use the TFP when you've got google? I mean, I could google for you, but why not try it out for yourself? You might learn something.

Rant aside, I really don't know where you'd get one.

I've tried google, with no luck. Hence my usage of the TFP.

i hope your +5 sword of azbaz misses and sprays +3 fire of doom all over your elf wizardlock. doing D1million damage.

Yeah, I'm not sure who you play with that wouldn't string you up to die a slow and painful death for such behavior.

If you insist on it, read up on how to make loaded dice and do it yourself, I suspect there's one company or less that would actualy make loaded d20s.

What?! You must use loaded dice!? You are not a gamer..leave fate to decide your actions!! P.S ..play something other than d20..try ..uh..White Wolf..

God, cheating at d20 is a new low....

That'd be like cheating at a LARP.

Apokx 06-07-2004 05:38 PM

I'm not sure how you cheat at LARP,but I still laughed.

DM: The dragon ate you. You are at -8 hp.

Cheating LARPer: No, it didn't. I pulled my sword of dragon-slaying (TM) and cut the dragon's head off from inside its mouth.

DM: You killed the dragon from inside its mouth?

Cheating LARPer: Yeah, exactly.

I had a d20 that went from 11 to 20 twice. Great die. And another one that was just 1 to 0 twice. Not so great but useful. I do have a couple of loaded d6. I cant remember where I got them all though.

GakFace 06-11-2004 03:28 AM

you have dice that have 0 on them? If you have zero, how exactly do you score a 20? hehe

Thats some magical die if I can roll a zero. ;)

LARPing doesn't use a DM, it's "Live Action Role-Playing"
You cheat by "accidentally" miscounting how many spells you've cast, how much damage you took, metagaming (using out-of-game knowledge to help you in game,) etc.

I figured that Larping would have someone running the adventure, hence a DM. I'm curious how the story progresses if no one is running the story.

I usually prefer rolling a d6 + d10 to generate a 1-20 #. The d20 with 1 to 0 was just made for that purpose.

Plot committee runs the game and has a whole bunch of NPC's, some of who are marshalls, who monitor conduct and can be consulted about rules.

I can't believe someone would actually want a loaded dice. Cheating at DnD...thats a new low

Chingal0 06-12-2004 08:14 PM

I can't believe someone would cheat at a LARP, or even participate for that matter!

Don't knock it until you try it. It's a lot of fun to beat the crap out of your firends with foam-covered pvc, even if that's all you do there.

I used my loaded ones when I was DMing and the players were having a too easy time of it. I would wait till a critical moment and roll outside the dm shield "Whoa, thats gonna be rough, you guys better see this roll and cross your fingers.... whoops too bad."

Ha Ha, DMing was fun. Suckers.
