Zelda: WW
Beat it during the downtime.
Was a good game overall, the endless sailing got tires some but that is what warp was for. Overall I'd put it as my 3ed favorite Zelda game. |
I said it once I'll say it again.....
Excellent game. I loved the sailing stuff, finding treasure, blowing shit up. Ocarina of Time is still the best Zelda game, in my opinion anyway, but I'd put Wind Waker right there next to it. |

As for Zelda's, my fav go The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past The Legend of Zelda The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker |
oh yea, sorry, kinda got thrown off topic... hehe
well i didnt like WW.. but my fav's are .... the 2 original nintendo Zelda's and the super nintendo one.. the early gameboy editions were fun too... that one with the huge wind egg or whatever. |
I liked WW. I was turned off by the cell shading at first but the gameplay made up for it. I want to say that there wasn't enough side quests but there was alot of them, they were so easy to find and the rewards were so cheap they were hardly even felt like you were doing anything important.
The boating was a pain until you can warp. There were 3 people watching me play the game when I first got it. There were none after I made my first trip from Outset Island to Dragon Roost :/ Anyways.. LTTP and the first Zelda are still my favorites. OOT would be third.. |
I haven't beat it yet (I'm slow) but its great so far
|
Windwaker was wicked!
The dungeons had some of the most interesting puzzles I've ever seen in a Zelda game. They were challenging, yet easy enough to solve without resorting to a player's guide every two seconds (something I'm proud to say I didn't do at all during the game). The animation was very well done, and even though I have finished the game, there are still a billion little puzzles and side quests that I still have yet to do. There were, however, things I didn't like about the game. It felt like it was a little on the short side. If it had made you work for the Triforce pieces instead of simply fishing them out of the sea, then I would have said this game was complete. Overall, I would have to say I was very happy and impressed with what Nintendo created. |
I just finished it today, and i must say it was great. It definitely was too short, though i was able to extend it by doing most of teh sidequests before the last dungeon. I think it has some of the best graphics too, next to Metroid Prime. I only wish i had played more of the old Zeldas. Heck, now i finally own Ocarina of Time, but still haven't finished it.
Overall, one of my favorite games. |

haven't played it yet..... may 4th Nintendo released a bundle pack that is the Gamecube, Zelda WW, the other two games (oricana and the other), annnd a GC/GBA link cable :D
$150 nintendo is kinda shitty compared to the early 90s but things like this rule. |
i got WW, got annoyed at sneaking around the pirates base, and haven't touched it since.... i plan on doing it sometime, but i've got WC3 to master online.... as for ranking the games, i'd have to say ocarina is by far the best, although i've heard rumors that they are making the kick ass version of zelda that they orginally showed.... the one with link fighting gannondorf... that should kick the ass of any game for a long time coming....
nintendo going down the drain? its no PS2, but it also isn't x-box... i mean MP was great... and SSBM.... |
I loved it. But it was way, way, way, way too easy. I didn't die once, didn't even come close. Fortunately it was good enough that I could look past that and just enjoy it. I wish it was longer, but that's the way every good game should be--you always wish it was longer.

Best part of the game, by the way, in my humble opinion. |
Well without commenting on the rest of the Nintendo stuff I have to say that I enjoyed WW but I thought that it was not as good as OoC or Link to the Past were.
I didn't like the way the game was really easy, the stupid fishing nonsense, and the sailing around forever. I did like the bosses, the controls, and yes I actually liked the graphics (its cool when a bomb explodes) |
I think its a really good game, just seems a little too easy at times, like the puzzles aren't that difficult and once you have like 7 hearts, it's hard to die.
|
I thought the game was pretty okay but the figres wherent nice, i mean link just didn't look like link anymore but just some pther figure.
my fav zelda's are the old ones on the nintendo, the one on the supernes, and also the ocarina of time. |
wind waker sucks like shit
ITS FREAKIN CELL SHADED i say they killed zelda with it :( |
That's what I thought at first...until I played it. And went back and looked at my drawings from Zelda 1.
Go back take a look... |

But you know what? They really pulled it off. Details like the movement of the eyes were not forgotten, and the animations were fluid and natural. Not only with the main characters, and NPCs, but with the ambience and the backgrounds. I would have to say that this game pulls right up along side Metroid Prime in terms of quality of graphics. Plus, beyond the graphics (because I'm someone who needs more than just a bunch of pretty pictures to keep me interested), the gameplay, challenge, and replayability are all what I've come to expect from a Zelda game. Very good game, in my mind. I'm not saying you should like it too, but if you haven't already, you should at least give the game a shot. Go down to your local video game store (i.e. Electronics Boutique), and play the demo they have on display. |

I have to disagree with you here. The graphics are definitely the best of the Zelda series. Anyone who thinks the graphics suck needs to actually play the game, because it is awesome. A Link to the Past is still my favorite, with Ocarina coming in a close second. TWW would be the next in line though, hands down. -EW |
**MINOR SPOILERS WITHIN**
My opinions on WW: The graphics & animation are FANTASTIC. Their attention to detail is astonishing. He actually walks up the stairs, one foot in front of the other. Standing on a hill, one foot is higher than the other (not floating or sunken into the earth like in some games). I liked OOT when it came out, but playing the freebie disc that came with the WW preorder, it sure is ugly. Way too dark (even after they lightened it up), blurry, and the controls are kind of iffy. Gameplay is too slow, almost to the point of tedium. In WW it's fun just to run around and cut grass. It is the most attractive video game I have ever played. I remember how MYST blew me away when it came out years ago... WW is doing that again. The graphics here are so smooth and organic that Metroid Prime looks veritably CHUNKY (and I loved MP's graphics). I do share some complaints with ya'll... the game seemed too short. There should have been more dungeons. There should have been more creatures/enemies. The side quests should have been more important to the plot (more should be required to beat the game). I hope they make the next game with the exact same graphics engine. Kind of like they did with Majora's Mask on the N64. Just spend their entire budget on plot development, new characters, new dungeons. Hopefully maintain some of the boating/ocean environment but add a big mass of land to run around... It was such a shock when I finally got to see Hyrule. Even though you are constrained to the path, the sight of endless plains and mountains was inspiring. |
is link stupid? when i try to use my shield he just does the crawl.
i..... cannot..... defend! ( rented game. no instruction manual) |
im still playing wind waker, it's elite!
|
I have really enjoyed the game, but I think it has been too short as well. I have been playing zelda for so long that I have developed a knack for the puzzles, and they just don't take anytime at all. I thought I was gonna hate the graphics, but it didn't bother me at all as it turned out. But ocarina of time, that game was the absolute BOMB!! the best zelda ever IMHO.

my two roommates have been playing this non-stop for the past ~week. they won't stop! heh
|
I finished it today. The final dungeon was really a letdown, as was the ending. I did most of the extra stuff; it was a very deep game, and a blast while I was playing it, but honestly the last hour or so of playtime ruined the game for me.
