getting involved with gaming
hehe, i was noticing this last week, when i was at a halo (xbox) lan. Sometimes, especailly with consoles and controllers, people get really involved and animated when playing. i don't mean, to be mean, but it's quite funnny to watch people, as they play physcially move there control in the same direction they want to turn. Like, if they were going right, they throw there conrtol and arms out to the right, (unconsciously) thinking and imitaing the movement on screen. Or even jumping, they'd raise the control a bit, to animate the movements on screen.
Also, people who sorta lean out a bit, pretending to look around teh corner on a static screen. They don't realise, that the screen isn't moving, anymore from if you sit still or not. So it's funny to see them, try to get the advantage by physically peering around the screen, even though they can't actually see anymore ![]() Most of the time, it's people who are more inexperienced with games so they're probaby not used to sitting still, but it is quite funny to watch (even though that's a little mean to say ![]() hehe, i hope i don't do it, without thinking about it ![]() |

I know exactly what you mean. It bothers me really bad when I see people do it even though I know they can't help it.

Heh. Yeah, people moving while playing is always good for a laugh, especially when they suck ]=) My sister did it all the time on the SNES, which was especially funyn during MK3.

Yall should see my suite-mates. I have never seen people get so into a game of Halo. It will be three in the morning, and they will be screaming and yelling, jumping up and down, swearing like its going out of style... Pretty funny (except when you are trying to sleep

I'll have to admit sometimes when I'm on my PC playing an FPS, I have caught myself "dodging" rockets that are coming at me while my character does the same. I feel really foolish for doing it, but it's only happened twice maybe.

Yeah, same thing glytch. When playing an FPS, Everynow and then I can also feel like I'm the guy with the gun. From there, if covertly sneaking into the base, the thrill might take over, and I might lean (just my head mind you) as I crouch around a corner. Its kind of hard to notice, but since I'll do it, I'll notice. Now, when I'd play games like MarioKart with my sisters..... heh heh heh. They'd throw their arms to left, and to the right, if only to make the controller turn more..
![]() Sailer420: I can get my friends like that in a game of Super Smash Brothers... Screaming at the TV, almost jumping from their seats trying to dogde attacks and ducking as if them moving down helps any ![]() But yeah, once you game along you're able to not be so drastic with all of that, but sometimes its just kinda fun.. and when it is... well... hey ![]()

I know I used to jump around when I got into an intense part of a game when I was younger. Now I just lean foward toward the screen during the intense parts, the only exception is I still have a tendancy to tilt my controller when I'm playing racing games
![]() Now playing in the arcades is totally different, there is just something about playing with a group of people around me that makes me want to yell at the screen sometimes

When I play lightgun games, I always hold my gun sideways. When things get really intense, I try to dodge the bullets too, never works. If I've got someone with me, I'll talk trash to the machine too. I don't get nearly as involved with other kinds of games.

Well, to be honest, Rogue Leader has had me dodge more than the odd TIE, but that was purely reflex =D

My mom used to do that when she would play Super Mario back in the day. We used to make so much fun of her!
Now when I'm playing MOHAA and I'm caught off guard I always jump. Like if I'm shot and I don't see it coming. Jump right out of my skin.

You should see my wife play Super Mario Brothers. She moves around so much when she is jumping, she is dangerous

I used to do this, then I became a more serious gamer. I am like all bussiness when I play. It's a bit creepy to some people at times because I don't move any part of my body except my fingers. Then when the fight/shoot out ends I make some kinda comment like "...and THAT is how it's played!"

Silly boy. Don't you realize that my moving my body around, I'm putting a little extra english on my fighter, a little extra zap in my lasers and a some bonus boom in my bomber? That's why I'm always kicking the asses of you still-sitting players.

When I was a kid my feet never stopped moving when I was playing video games, when I played frogger I think I ran in place for four hours (great way to tire out a six year old)..
Now It's all about control.. Especially when Im playing a multiplayer game.. It freaks people out when you're playing Halo like poker. ![]()
