SWG RAM Warning
 

Hi all,
I f you are planning to play Star wars galaxies,
Please make sure that you are using more then 256 ram, actually more then 512 , now that you think about it try to hav close to a gig of Ram.
It is really an awesome game and I love it but!
You need good ram or the lag will drive you nuts.

I'm more concerned with the usurious monthly rates they want for that game. Having to shell out for more RAM just makes it worse.

Did anyone pay the 80 bucks or whatever for the "Special Commemorative Edition" they were offering? Good god, that's a bunch of money.

get the game, it is the best mmorpg on the market right now, and will deffinately hold you over until world of warcraft comes out. i am on the Corbantis server and my char name is noldor silone. pm me, as we are in the midst of starting a clan.

hmm 512mb of RAM on one of my sytems and it runs fine. What's your connection speed? And if you're worried about the monthly fee (which you probably should be at this point), wait a few months until things start to pick up. I agree that it is the best MMO out there right now, but I've found myself becoming bored as hell with it. Maybe that's just me.

And the collectors edition? You get an art booklet signed by the devs, some other small stuff, and in-game goggles (which are awefully ugly, IMO).

512 meg ddr i have with a p4 2.4 and 128 meg video card

I was fine on 384 but it stuttered a lot so I upgraded to 768 or something one 512 and two 128 sticks, runs fine now, the occasional stutters but that's it

It will run with 256....but not too well, I would reccomend 512.

SOE games are horrible when it comes to handling graphics efficiently. They dump as much as humanly possible into your RAM, which is (technical term incoming) retarded. Please don't buy their games.

It is $15 if you pay per month and it drops if you sign up for longer.

i have 1gig of DDR i think ( i know its 1 gig...) and its still laggy at times in busy cities, and that was on broadband...

well 256 was to laggy for me, it took me like 15 minutes to go haaaaaaalf way trough a city it was insane, I just recd my extra 512 ram, that should mak eit better (768)

Also, i only pay $12 a month not $15
I paid a year in advance.
I usually always give games a year try.
I 'm having a blast playing.
