PSP ...what's good ?

Hey all, so I got a PSP a week or so ago. enjoying it pretty well.

one stuck pixel- running a fixer vid now, anyone have a report on the value of these flashy vids to fix a stuck (not dead) pixel ?

games purchased so far:
Ridge Racer- alot of the same tracks as R4 for ps1. this is good for me cause it's been a while since I've played console games so it's nice to win some races w/o too much replay. I really love the drift style and visuals of Namco's Ridge Racer series.

Metal Slug Anthology- just tried it last night, really fun, ALOT of stuff blowing up ! great visuals...hope it doesn't get too hard.

Ape Escape on the Loose- same so far as ps1 which I never had time to play so that's ok. pretty fun so far.

Hot Shot's Golf- so far I don't understand how to control my shot very well so it's not that fun yet.

Viewtiful Joe Red Hot Rumble- just bough it off ebay so I won't know for a few days. I really hope I like it, it really looks cool.

I have the demo for Echochrome and I like it alot. the online PS store is down or I'd have bought the game via download already.

I also bought the Media Manager for it and it sure made importing some vids easy. worth the $16 download imho. easier than messing with shareware apps for me anyway.

I want to get Tekken and a good FPS...

I've found these sites have good downloads for it
23 places to get free PSP content (legally!) PSP
PSP Fanboy

so...anyone have good PSP links ?

anyone played Barnyard Blast Swine of the Night ? or Manhunt ?

my thumb hurts

i really like N+. It's a ninja game with one simple button, the jump button. your job is to navigate through each level. It's incredibly frustrating though so buyer beware.

the other games i'm playing right now are:

Valhalla knights 2 (mmorpg-ish, and the opening cutscenes are AWESOME)
Valkyrie Profile Lennith
Yggdra Union
Echochrome (get it, it's an awesome game)
DJ Max portable 2

i've played Tekken 5: DR on the psp and as someone who plays fighting games on an arcade stick, it's HARD. You either have to get used to the d-pad (ugh) or the little nub they call the joystick...

I've heard the god of war game for PSP is reason to purchase it alone. the gta games are supposed to be good too.

I've played the GTA games, they're really fun, and I think you can play them with your buddies if they have it on their PSP too, as long as they're within a short-enough distance. Plus, motorcycles in the GTA3 Liberty City map is a must have.

I'm addicted to both Lumines and Puzzle Quest, but I mostly use portables for puzzle games, so YMMV

An unannounced update of the v2.10 firmware on the PS3 and v3.80 firmware on the PSP is that ALL PS1 games work for Remote Play. This includes downloaded titles and games from disc.

This is huge news for PS3 and PSP owners. I just played Crash Bandicoot from download via Remote Play as well as Gran Turismo 2 from disc and both worked.
now that's pritty danm cool ! really makes the hack/firmware stuff sorta un necessary for me. I've been on the fence about the PS3 but this plus being a BR player...? seems a no brainer now.

finally got Echochrome via download to my PSP, it's really cool but it can get harder than I expected. I wish I could turn off the time factor.

Man, if that's true, I need to hop on the bandwagon and find myself the money to own a PSP within the next month.

Uh, yeah. That feature has been around for many, many months. Buy a PS1 game from PSN store or pop in your own disk into the PS3 and you can play it on the PSP from anywhere in the world provided you have WiFi access.

heh, sorry if it's old news but I just read it last night

I'm psyched ! I still have all my ps1 games. now I just need the PS3...and to build a cabnet for my AV gear. I've been changing all my electronics new computer, new tv's...now looks like a PS3 will be my Blue Ray player.

the main reason I wanted custom firmware was for Doom and Quake on my PSP but I have those PS1 games so I'm set.

No, there nothing like that available. However, if you mod your PSP with custom firmware, you can play PS1 games on it from the memory stick.

Custom firmware is constantly updated. It's usually no less than 1 official update behind, so you have all the functionality if you keep up to date.

ahh yes, the voucher

I'm having a go at Metal Gear Solid- the first game via remote play on my PSP. I've never played through it before.

the timer in echocrome really tics me off. I just don't see why everything needs a damn clock. I mean, ya don't have a clock on the cross word puzzles and this game feels sorta like that to me. just takes the fun out of it.
