Great non-gamer multiplayer games

I turn to the greater knowledge of the TFP to ask this question - What are some great multiplayer (console) games that are easy to play? i.e. for casual gamers, or non-gamers altogether? Games like DDR, Karaoke Revolution, Super Smash Bros, etc. come to mind. Just wondering if you guys know of anything that fits that bill, and might not be the most well-known game. Thanks.

Lego Star Wars is a good co-op game.

AGH! I can't believe nobody has mentioned Animal Crossing for the Nintendo DS! This is not a game that is played, but a game that is lived...

I am a serious gamer, who is accustomed to playing some of the more difficult multiplayer games, and Animal Crossing is still one of the most fun multiplayer games I have ever experienced. Ever. Ev-arrr.

Lots of karting games are good, accessible fun.

Not sure about Tony Hawk--to really get anywhere with it, you have to put some hours into grooving your timing.

I want to say Pikmin 2... I'm not sure though...
Hot Shots Golf is super accessible.

I'll say the Time Crisis games. Frequency/Amplitude.
Anything Eyetoy...

You guys already named all the games I keep out for guests.
Guitar Hero, Katamari, Mario Kart, DDR. All stuff I can get a girl or kid to play.

Amazingly enough, no one has mentioned The Sims series. If ever there was a game for non gamers, this is it.

Did they come out with some type of multiplayer patch for the Sims? Well I guess there's the Sims online.
