But seriously, I dunno if this is real, but if so I'm sure it was just a slip of the tongue and he didn't mean anything racist.

ya I listened to it and it didnt really sound racist in anyway, he didn't stutter or anything I think he was just saying it in the way that "since these people are black more people are gonna have issues with it (even if that sorta sounds racist in itself)

Maybe he's caught up in the emotion. But the phrase "so black" seemed a bit suspect.

maybe it was supposed to be "so bleak" but the teleprompter was wrong or he misread it? people are too quick to assume racism

Ya, definitely a messup. Maybe black like dark/depressing/no hope/everything gone/life over. Black in a dark sense.

I heard it explained another way at work today, I dunno what the truth is though...Wolf could have meant anything.

What I heard at work was this..

That he meant... Those people are so poor and so {many of them are} Black. It appears like the rescue efforts are race motivated.

What the guy where I work was saying was that Wolf was actually pointing out the obvious and suggesting (As a senator that Wolf interviewed the next day also said) That the rescue response efforts were tainted by racial motivation.

But Who really knows wat he meant... it still sounds bad ....

Has anyone else noticed that when an African Heritaged American screws up, like the Mayor of New Orleans, other AHAs start using the "racist" tag to deflect attention?
