This is a test to see if an old thread refreshes by edit.

Well, if you go to UBC, you're going to have to put up with my SFU football team beating the fuck out of them every year... can you handle that?

in all honesty, it's not that hard to get into if you have a good GPA transferring... you'll need in excess of a 3.2 most likely for them to look at you, depending on the courses you're taking (keep in mind i pulled that number out of my ass... don't take my word for it, do your own research)

It's a beautiful campus, and most everything you will ever need is either on campus, or just off

Are there ample student employment opportunities at the school? I'm looking at transferring to UBC this summer, next fall, and a student visa would not allow me to work, unless it is with the school I am attending.

Don't forget about the nude beach in Vancouver, near UBC!

The minimum might be 2.0 but you generally need a much higher average to get in because of the competition to get into the different programs.

BTW, Wreck Beach (nude beach) is ON campus, not just near it.

I'm sure there are many opportunities to work on campus (especially if you can "demonstrate financial need", but you'd have to check with UBC to make sure you'd be able to get a job.

UBC has a really nice, sprawling campus. Like others mentioned, everything you need is right there, or really close by. My place is in Kits, 10 mins from UBC so I know the area pretty well. There's always a lot goin on and you're close to downtown Vancouver if you want to get away for a bit.

I heard early admission was hovering around 82% but I'm not sure if that's Arts or Sciences. Good luck.
