				Life in the 1950s. Where did we go wrong?
			 The following is from an article entitled "The good wife's guide" from an issue of a magazine called "Housekeeping Monthly" published in 1955. In it, it lists all the appropriate behaviour that a good housewife should follow.  Somewhere along the line, I feel that we have strayed from the path it laid out for us. I wonder why........ 
 We don't seem to see articles like this anymore. It's a mystery. |

| I'm baaaaack! | I cannot believe that only 50 years ago, we thought that way. What I wouldn't give to be 50 years older than I am and see the transition this country has made since then. As much as I think it was a ridiculous and arrogant way to live, I wouldn't mind having my only job be in my own home, keeping it up for my provider.

| Devoted Donor Location: New England | Snopes, as usual, to the rescue:  Urban Legends Reference Pages: Language (How to Be a Good Wife). They list it as 'undetermined', but seem to consider it more 'unlikely'.
