Camping!

I was camping for the weekend, and therefore not able to update the Recipe of the Day, however, I did make some shit up in the wilderness..

Chile Fritos

1 can Chile
Some Fritos
Some Lettuce
Some Cheese

Heat chile. Place Fritos in a bowl or plate, shred lettuce and place on top of Fritos. Shred cheese. Pour hot chile over the Fritos, top with cheese. Yay.

S'Mores

Marshmellows
Chocolate
Graham Crackers

.....

Meh, that is all I have for now.. I made egg's benedict, but I really don't want to go thru the process... New recipes starting tomorrow!

Wow, much better than my mountain-shake-&-bake fish recipe. Take one fresh fish, gut it, accidentally drop onto ground, blow off dirt as best as you can, say fuck it cook and eat anyway!

Where'd you go camping chingal0?

Eggs Benedict while camping? I'm impressed.

We had blackened pike with cajun seasoning. While not a big fish eater, it had a very distinctive flavor until my eyes started burning.

Lotsa butter in a hot ass pan
add pike strips
add seasoning
cook fast and serve.

The steak cooked over the fire was nothing less than awesome.

steal wood from beaver dam
burn wood down to coals
pat steak with ground pepper
cook 3-4 minutes each side
serve with nothing but a knife and fork

Cut up any fresh vegetables and put thiem in an aluminum pouch but before closing tightly add some freh gralic, some butter, and salt and pepper. It's great, with no clean-up.

About four years ago my family and I were camping when a major thunder storm washed out a bridge on the only (safe) road down the mountain. There were 4 other families in the little camping area trapped with us so we all got together for a fresh trout cook off. It was great!! I've never had so many different styles of trout. The trout sausage was the best in my opinion.. I have tried to reproduce it but failed.
