				Superdawg Chicago
OK, let's round up Chicago folks and anyone who wants to visit our lovely city. We're going to make a date to partake in some delicious Superdawgs. Who's in and what day/time works? JJ and I are open since it's summer so you poor saps who work all year round can throw out some times.

| Asshole Administrator Location: Chicago | Well, weekends are the only thing that work for me, unless I randomly happen to be coming home from O'Hare at just the right time. Most Saturdays and Sundays work, and I'm about 15 minutes away. I might bring the family, too, since The_Wife and Max both love Superdawg (especially the shakes). So if we can agree on a weekend day, I'll almost certainly be in.

Ratbastid, where are you going to be staying in Chicago? If Superdawg doesn't come through for Friday possibly some of us could meet up for coffee or tea. Maybe, I should have made a general, "Find yourself in Chicago? Let's get together." thread...

| Darth Papa Location: Yonder | I'm game for anything! And if it doesn't work out this trip, I'll be back a couple times a year for the foreseeable future. I'm staying at the Holiday Inn at Mart Plaza, which is off Orleans. I won't really have my own transportation, either, so something walkable from there would be best, unless somebody wants to come get me. |

If you want a really good bacon cheeseburger and chili cheese fries, we should make plans to go to Portillos. Of course, the restaurant offers a ton of grill items and Italian foods so it's a pleaser for everyone, even vegetarians. It's only a few blocks away from where you are staying. I don't know if it's better than Superdawg since I haven't been there, but it's a hell of a lot closer. What times are you thinking of?

| Asshole Administrator Location: Chicago | Well, if we're moving this to better accomodate ratbasid - which is an idea I'm 100% behind btw - Portillo's is fairly convenient to his hotel. I think that the Gold Coast Dog on State and Grand is closed, which is a shame. The Weiner Circle is fairly easy to get to and find, but I don't know if I can go there in the daytime and not act like a drunken asshole - I'm pretty sure that there might be legislation requiring it. It's also probably walking distant for you guys, Shesus, if I have the locale of your new place pegged right from the pictures in your journal. There are also some places in the Loop (Luke's, the Gold Coast at Northwestern Station), but I don't know if they're even open on a Saturday. Huey's on Balmoral and Clark is pretty good, but I only mention it because it's the closest to my place, but if I have my druthers, I'm going to Wolfie's on Peterson and California. I know I'm forgetting some place major, but it will come to me. Maybe there's something in Wrigleyville I'm forgetting.

| Cosmically Curious Location: Chicago, IL | I would be happy to do something the night of Friday the 18th, that works well for me. I work until 5:00, but I have a car, so I can get anywhere in the city by 7:00. I have no objection to Portillos, as that is close to ratbastid's hotel and delicious. I hope this works out, it'd be great to see everyone! I also just realized that Friday night happens to be opening night for The Dark Knight, so perhaps if there was interest, we could make it a dinner and movie night. I'll be going to see it either way.

| Fancy Location: Chicago | So, it looks like it will be Portillos on Friday, July 18 around 7:00. Of course, that's if it sounds good to Ratbastid.

clever.... I am glad to see the chi-town crew reunited It just seems like the universe works better with JJ and shesus there! Oh and speaking of subway Spectre... I finally tried Jimmy Johns... it IS better than subway.... in fact, it's downright addicting...

| Fancy Location: Chicago | So are we shooting for dinner and a movie? Dark Knight is showing at 10:30 at the closest theater to Portillos. Or for an extra walk, not a bad walk though, it's showing at multiple times: 8:30 9:15 10:15 10:45 11:15pm 12:15am.

| Darth Papa Location: Yonder | I dig Jimmy Johns (mostly because they're so fast I freak), but Quiznos is still my one true love, sandwich-wise. Hard to beat the toasty goodness. I'm totally game for dinner and a movie! I vote we do dinner at 7:00 and then shoot for the 8:30 or 9:15 movie. |

| Human Administrator Location: Chicago | A time should be set and advance tickets should be purchased if people are going to see Batman. Enthusiasm for this movie is pretty high. I'm totally unsure whether or not I'll be able to make it, but I hope so. I'm starting a new job on the 17th and it may involve working Friday night or early Saturday morning. Or it may not. If we end up buying advance tickets for the movie though, I think I'd be willing to risk the $15 in order to be sure and join you all if I can make it.

Those times sound good to me. I suppose we could get the tickets in advance. I think the 9:15 movie would be better so we aren't rushed to eat and run since the theater is a bit of a walk.

| We work alone Location: Cake Town | Lucky Strike is a nice place to meet up. Bar + bowling + food + AMC theater next door. Bowling + drinks + Dark Knight = win. http://www.bowlluckystrike.com/ There's a 70% chance I'll be there next weekend with a friend.

| We work alone Location: Cake Town | Is this happening on Friday the 18th? I'll probably be there to see the movie on that day after work. Need to finalize the details with the person I'm going.

| Junkie Location: Chicago | Shesus and I are a go. We'll be there, spectre. Go ahead and buy a ticket. okay, is spectre gone yet? Okay, now that spec's got his ticket, let's go see Kitt Kittredge: An American Girl. tee hee, he'll feel so foolish going to Batman alone.

| Cosmically Curious Location: Chicago, IL | I think the 9:15 is best also, better not to be rushed. It seems we're pretty much settled on that. So 7:00 dinner at Portillos, and then 9:15 movie, sounds great. I'll go ahead and buy my tickets later today. (Not for the American Girl movie JJ, very funny ) Logan Snake - Yeah, we're talking about Friday the 18th.

| Asshole Administrator Location: Chicago | It's not looking good for me. We've had 3 babysitters say "no" and only 1 left to hear from. Regardless the movie's too late for The_Wife (and most likely me too), so we'd head home.

| We work alone Location: Cake Town | I get off work at 5. By the time I get home and change it will be 6:30. By the time I get downtown to meet up with a friend (who I'm meeting from another forum, coincidentally), it will be around 7:30. Me and him are going to catch Dark Knight at the same theater as you guys, but at a later time.
