Prison Break
Anyone catch this new Fox series?
I liked it, a lot. Tense and gritty, well written and acted. It's not OZ, but it pushes the envelope for network drama. Apparently Fox released it early as last year their fall releases flopped due to late release. Seems the other networks beat them due to Fox carrying the baseball playoffs. Thoughts on this series? |
Crap. I missed it. And I told myself that i'd watch it.
Hopefully Fox replays it some time. |

I give it about an 8.5 out of 10. Lets just hope it doesn't suffer the same fate as the last Dominic Purcell series on Fox (John Doe). And hopefully Wentworth (What is he the butler? :D ) Miller will get to be in a few more episodes than he did in his last series (Joan of Arcadia) before it got cancelled.
|
I liked it. Though a bunch of it seems a little too perfect. Like how he ghost wrote the plans there. And his brother is there. And the whole blueprints thing. Bunch of stuff like that.
However, I did enjoy it quite a bit. Was happy it was 2 hours instead of just one this time :) |

I thought it was pretty good. I get a little tired of prison boy's 'quiet intensity' sometimes, but, other than that, good show. I'm anxious to see how all this planning pays off. I thought it was pretty funny that the head guard spent all that time looking for "allen schweitzer" and it turns out it's on a tag on all the toilets. |
Tivoed it and gonna watch it with my wife tonight or tomorrow.. can't wait to see it.
|
I liked it. It reminded me of 24 for some reason. I'm sure this is another show that I'm gonna end up wasting lots of time on.
|
I got around to watching it last night and was pretty impressed. I liked the tats on his chest and what they really were. Can't wait to see more, and I love Peter Stormare.. glad he's finally on a series.
|
Saw it tonight. I like it also. Seems interesting and it's nice to see that not all of his plan is going out as perfect as he planned it. It'll be interesting to see the "contingencies" he claimed to have planned out if things don't work out.
|
I was going to watch the re-airing tonight, but our local Fox affiliate decided to show a pre-season football game.
|
I watched the 1st episode and was pretty impressed..I'll definitely keep watching to see what unfolds
|
caught up with the current episode. very interesting to see him play his cards in ways you don't expect, ala the Warden and Fibonacci.
|
I think part of the fun of this series will be seeing him roll with the punches, like the new cellmate he got.
|
Is the new cellmate's condition an actual psychological condition? I mean, no sleep, EVER?
|
I tohught the toothpaste tubes were gonna be for messing with mr nodoze.
|
Arg, due to my class schedule, i'm going to miss EVERY episode until after this semester ends.
Groan, hopefully I can find some time when they replay it. |
I'm already hooked.. have been since the first episode. It's the first series I've been interested in .. in a loooong time. The critics say to stomach a few weak episodes to start with and then it will be great.. ..
what do they know? it's great already :D |
Sadly, I missed the first episode but have caught the other two. I'm interested in knowing what I missed. I hope someday they'll replay it.
Anyway, I really like the show, and plan to watch it all the way through so long as I have the opportunity. |
For some reason i just realized... is this show a mini series? How many seasons could they have him trying to bust his brother out of prison? Plus next week is already the beginning of the break out it seems.
|
The show is slated to run the whole season, but I don't know if it has been picked up yet.
I was wondering if he will break out and hide in the prison for a while til he can get all the people/things that he needs for the real escape.. we'll see tomorrow. |
I think that they could even break out any time and draw it out like Logan's Run or Planet of the Apes, A-Team where they are always 2 steps ahead of the chasers and once in a while get very close to being caught as they try to prove his innocence.

maybe they could even buy the franchise, the fugitives... |
Suprised that no one mentioned it, but this week's episode was disappointing. Things worked out WAY too well for him. Hopefully, we can get back to things going well and things going not so well soon.
|
things always work out way too well.. that's my only gripe about the show. Sure.. you can get lots of stuff in prison..but damn.. this is almost too easy.
(*note this is not from experience) :) |
(needs to hang out in the Entertainment section more)
So far, this makes 3 must watch shows fro my sister and me. It looks like it's going to be a great series. When they do break out, what will be the main set for the series? Will they change the intro? Would most of the cast change? The Doctor, the Warden, the Head Guard. Or are there going to be many failed escape attempts until they finally make it (kinda like Gilligan's Island). And yes, thing did work out exactly as planed. I've noticed something about entertainment regarding Masterplans. If they don't let the audience in on it, it's going to go down perfectly. If the entire plan is told to the audience, then the %*&# hits the fan. |
I'm curious as to how they plan to extend this show. To be honest, they really could end this show next episode. I predict lots of filler episodes.
|
this show kicks ass, have watched every episode so far. and forgive me for not knowing his name, but the guy who plays the lead role in this is going to go on to alot bigger things. he's dam good.
|
Wentworth Miller is the fellow's name I believe.
|
I believe our friend Wentworth made his big break on Joss Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer, when he played one of the swimmers on the Episode "Go Fish" in 1998. If any of you ladies want to see him in a bathing suit, it's time to hit Google Images.
Memorable quote: "Ewww! What is that foulness?" said a la Keanu Reeves as our intrepid Wentworth picks up on a fishy smell on the beach. |
Ol' Wentworth was in the pilot episode of "Ghost Whisperer" last night.
He played a ghostly Vietnam soldier looking for help to find his family. He guest-starred next to Jennifer Love Hewitt's lovely jubblies. |
Last nights episode was pretty damn good in my opinion. It had my wife and I sitting on the edge of our seats as chaos was everywhere in the prison.
I can't wait for next week! |
It was the best episode yet. There are still some pretty big holes in the story but next week should be interesting. I'm curious to see how he explains getting to the infirmary, *if* he doesn't get shot :p
|
Damnit. I forgot to watch it. Groan. Hopefully someone I know taped it or something.

While I am interested in seeing how they clear accuseds' name, i'm MUCH more interested in seeing how they get out. |
finally caught up on the Tivo... pretty compelling but at the same time annoying.
Spoiler: the captured CO was iced but what about the fair Dr.? after the comment about the mold she's now suspicious. |
Was prison break not on this week or did I totally miss it?

argh, no! dammit, i hate when they preempt stuff like that.

Prison Break is the only series I watch.. except for Simpsons, Family Guy and King of the Hill.
But then I <3 baseball more than life itself..sooooo... it doesn't bother me that a series got pushed back for the playoffs :D |
Great show with a Great Start. I am just curious what happens after they break out of prison. Can you still call the show prison break or would you have to call it something else. Imean if the people on LOST were ever found why would you still call the show LOST? They are supposed to make a break for it on the next episode in a couple of weeks. The brother has a very elaborate plan and it will be interesting to see what goes wrong. i don't know if Fox thought his show o uld do well going up againsy Las vegas, which is another great show. It will be a hit though and I realyl hope they make it out of the prison alive.
|
who all is still watching??? It was back on tonight and it still has me hooked...definitely one of the must-watch shows for me.
|
I'm still watching. I'm still hooked but sometimes I get annoyed with all the luckiness and the holes in the story. I'll still prolly buy it on DVD once it comes out tho :D
|
I still enjoy the show, but I'm getting a little bored with it.
Every week it seems the same. Lawyer girl and Lawyer guy are threatened (at least this time they were almost killed, eh?) while in prison there appears to be some insurmountable obstacle that needs to be vaulted and vaulted right quick if the 'plan' is to stay on schedule. The 'L.J.' storyline was a nice addition, but I just don't know where they can go with it right now. Good show, just getting a little too repetitive for my tastes |
Still watching. I heard that the actor who plays Michael was an office temp for a while. On the day of the casting, a lot of the people there reconized him as the guy from the copier. And that gang just keeps growing. Everyone has their reasons for getting out/being in the group. Do you guys think they'll break out by the end of the first season?
|
I think they're going to leave a cliff-hanger and leave the actual break-out for the beginning of next season. That way, the show can be about them being on the run on the outside and all the repercussions for Veronica and the kid... not to mention all the drama of the escapees trying to reunite with loved ones while staying under the radar. There will probably be a lot of political nonsense involving the VP as well. What else could they throw our way?
|
Nov 28 is supposed to be the season finale...
q: If they are in the house in the woods where the lawyer's father was "off the grid" how do they have electricity for the TV and laptop? How did they have internet for IM? and obviously the mapped IP IM trace was just bunk in and of itself to get that guy over to them in short order. |
Nov 28?!
a: it's annoying when we have to come up with our own answers to these quietions. Like, for example, what the hell happened at the end of the last Matrix. It seems they would have a genarator for power. And a cell phone can provide wireless internet. It would have been cool if there was at least a 2 second sence where all that was mentioned. Oh well. And as far as the mapped IP IM trace, let's just say the assasin has access to "military" technology, and leave it at that. |
Is this season officially ending on November 28?
|
From what I understand the season will end at the end of this month and then continue in March of '06 or something like that. Not sure why think it might be they didnt' order a full season because it was new kinda deal or something like that.
|
http://www.tv.com/prison-break/show/...ode_guide.html
from what I can gather here, it seems like the orginal order was for 14 episodes. Broadcast seasons are 23-24 episodes and cable cycles are generally 13 episodes. I wonder if they were originally slated to be on FX and then test audiences gave it good ratings so it was moved to broadcast. yes the office season finale from what I've read is Nov. 28. |
Interesting turn of events. Looks like the chain gang is too long and one of them will be voted off soon. Wonder if one of them will wind up dead...
|
I think we all know who we'd (and the characters) want to get knocked off but that wouldn't make for good TV now would it?
|
The previews made it look like it'd be T-Bag (I love that name BTW), but I can't see that happening. Those previews are usually pretty misleading.
|
One question I have is, do these guys ever eat? As far as I can remember there has not been a single "mess hall" scene.
|
I haven't watched in about 3 weeks... I got completely bored with it....
|

well....fall finale is over....long wait till March...I'll be looking forward to it's return...tonight's episode was ok, but not quite as dramatic as I hoped it would be.
|
AHHHHHHHHH!!!
missed the finale... (mopes around the room) time to pray to the internet gods for a download. |
what the fuck... that was it?
what a lame way to go into a huge break! that's piss poor. |
The good news is that Tony may survive though. I was expecting him to leave in a bodybag but he was alive in the helicopter.
Why the hell would the good secret service guy not have his weapon drawn! He knew his partner and knew how ruthless he would be. He also shoulda handed the envelope over knowing that he might be killed and the killer would at least be taken down. Oh well. Its gonna be a long wait untill spring! |
Saw the finale. Should have just waited 'til March.
I also downloaded an episode of InFANity that featured Prison Break. Hosted by news hottie, Lisa Joyner, they took a tour of the prison (she held on to T-Bag's pocket!!), mentioned that parts of it appeared to be haunted, and the addmission that the tatoos are kind of sticky. |
So who's been watching the last few episodes? My wife and I have and we're as addicted to ever to this show.
I'm glad that Tony is back, I figured he would be, he's an awesome character. The boss finding the hole at the end was kinda suprising, I wonder how they pull off the escape next week..... Apparently its been renewed for another season as well! |
I've been watching this. It blends well with my 24 addiction on Monday nights. I really like it. Very well done.
|
I like this show just barely enough to keep watching it. I approve of the social message it's trying to send, anti-death penalty and the problem with our corrections system, but it's waaaay to heavy-handed and the conspiracy theory is simply convoluted and silly. That said, I like the characters and I think the dynamic of the escaping group is interesting. Every week I say to myself, I'm not going to watch this show anymore, but by the end of the episode they've done just enough to keep my interest, so that's not a bad thing.
|
I like the show a lot. I started watching to fill the void back when 24 wasn't on, and I've just kept watching.
I think it would be interesting if Bellick didn't find the hole in the floor because that kid sent him to the wrong room. Michael said he needed to know if he could trust him, so maybe he told him the wrong room on purpose. Sort of like with the cellphone and Sucre in the earlier episodes. It probably won't happen that way, but I don't see how they could escape otherwise, since they would get locked up right away if Bellick found the right hole. -Tamerlain |
Quote:
This was what immediately came to my mind, within 60 seconds of Bellick finding that hole I woulda thought all the guys on the PI team would be in solitary for a very long time. I didnt really think about the possibility of him being sent to a wrong room, but that can't be the case because if I remember correctly Bellick held up a piece of wood right at the end - the wood being a piece of the plaque they were using to cover up the hole. |

I tuned into every episode up until March when I realized they aren't going to escape this week or next and I lost interest. I don't really like being strung along like that. I kind of think they won't escape any time soon since the life of the show will be just about over then. But then I haven't watched it since the second episode in march so I have no idea whats going on. So, yeah, I'm bitter about them not escaping and the show always making it look like this week is it. boooo.
|
BTW, I hear Prison Break was extended for another season.
|
dam ive been missing prison break but have been recording them.. cant wait till midterms are over to watch
|
So who watched last nights episode? Things are definately underway and they have certainly built up a ton of suspense.
Spoiler: Michael going in and threatening the Pope with the shank really suprised me, thats showing signs of desperation and straying from the plan which is not what Michael usually does. I can't wait to see next weeks episode. |
That surprised me as well as the opening. I didn't see that coming after Bellick found the hole... I can't wait to see what next week brings!
The old man is a badass! |
Quote:
That wound looked pretty nasty. When did they make the doctor an alcoholic, and who was the big muckity-muck that was pushing the vice-president's buttons? |
Quote:
In the episode a couple of weeks ago where they showed how all of the main players ended up in prison they showed the doctors back story. She was a doctor in a hospital that had a drug and alcohol problem. When she was unable to help a dying person at the side of the road because of her addictions she entered rehab and went into the prison system as an act of repentence. (maybe I'm reading more into it  ) I forgot to add in my post previously that I like the end of the show where all of the escapee's had a few moments to reflect on why they wanted to get out of prison. Untill I saw T-Bags, his was creepy! |
Yeah, I was really surprised by this newest episode... After last week's ending, with Bellick finding the hole, I really thought this week was going to be really, really stupid with trying to explain how they got away anyway, but it wasn't... putting Bellick underground and threatening Pope with a shank... well, I bought it. Ate it up in fact. I'm definitely going to keep giving this show a chance, even if I don't think it's the best thing on TV....
|
So who watched lasts nights escape episode? It had my wife and I sitting on the edge of our seats the entire night. Was this the season finale or do we get another episode or two? I noticed there wasnt a preview for next week on our channel anyhow.
Anyhow, again, a great episode, I'm glad the doctor helped and I really hope we get to see her next season somehow. |
season finale is next week
|
Yup, great suspenseful epi. Too bad about D.B.
And he stashed five million bucks instead of one. :suave: |

i thought the 2nd last episode should of been the finale, much more intense.
i dont know how they are gonna escape but i think the father could help out, or maybe that was the real jet that took off, there may be one over the other side of that field? who knows! |
Season 2
Finally, the moment we've been waiting for, Prison Break is back. And it's like a whole new show. Now, they're out, and on the run. Michael, Linc and the rest of the gang are on the loose, and there's an FBI agent hunting them all down.
To recap, we left off with Michael, Linc, Sucre, C-Note, and Aburrzi running down a field, being chased by police, their dogs, and Bellick, trying to catch a plane that left a moment too soon. Haywire is riding a bike through the country side, and the kid, Tweener, is in one of those trailer thingys they carry horses in. Dr. Sara Tancredi was found in her apartment, having recently ODed. Veronica Donovin walked into the hideout of the deceaced president's brother, Terrance Stedmen, who is very much alive. LJ, Linc's son, is still in jail awaiting trial for the murder of his mother and step-father. And T-Bag is running through the woods hand-in-hand with his own severed hand. |
I found it amusing what happened to Veronica on the first episode of season 2 because it was so unexpected.
|
Quote:
|
I just think it's funny that they did that to her on the FIRST episode of the second season.
I bet she asked for a pay raise :D |
Please Kill TEABAG!!!
|
Kill T-Bag? But then who else will kill off the other cons? :)
|
Hey, where have the Prison Break fans gone? It's the 20th, and there hasn't been anyone here since T-Bag got his hand back.
|
I've been kinda bored with it.
|

|
I like the Fed with the drug addiction who is figuring everything out about Michael's plan, but the two ex prison guards were captured by the help of the hot stripper who tried to capture Michale and Lincoln, but was owned!
What type of medication is the Fed using? |
Quote:
|
Sounds like he said, "Bedazelaff"? Does that ring a bell? And who is this Oscar Shales that the Fed is looking for? Whenever we see Michael's file on his desk, Shales file is right under it.
|
The Feds are in Toole, Utah where Michael and crew are digging for the money. Unfortunately, the fed caught one of them and now they might be screwed.
|
Let's just hope it's Teabag that dies next week.
