Lost - Star Wars connection.. sort of

Was it just me or did Anakin's scar by the side of his right eye remind you guys of Locke's similar scratch on Lost?

Just wondering.

(Sidetrack) Anakin got the scar in the Clone Wars. It was given to him by a female jedi that Sideous and Dooku sent to kill him as a "test" to become a sith.

The first dvd is out already, at least in the US. I picked it up at Costco for like $13. It has episodes 1-20 which were like 3-4 minutes each and included the3 fight between Anakin and Asajj. Episodes 21-25 are longer and can be seen at starwars.com or cartoonnetwork.com .

Also of note is that the teaser trailer for ep3 is on the Clone Wars volume 1 DVD.

What gets me is during episode 1, his mother talks to Qui-Gon about his father.
She says, that there was no father, she just 'gave birth'.
Now is she just pointing out that to be a father is more involved than donating sperm, or is it an allusion to a virgin birth?

Moving away from the thread topic, I think there was a "virgin birth" but the new hot topic is were the Sith involved? In Ep 3, Palpatine tells Anakin that his mentor, Darth Plageous (sp?) Was so powerful with the force he could "create life" by influencing Midichlorians.

So is the Emperor Anakin's daddy?

I like this theory... it dovetails nicely in that Annikin kills the Emporer and leaves his son to be the saviour... Good from evil.

actually it fits into Lucas' belief that the son vindicates the father...

Cynthetiq is right. Once Anakin's mom said it was no father involved in his birth i thought Ep1 was going to spiral down the christianity overtones road similar to the Matrix trilogy did.

Although that is what Lucas wants us to believe, consider this: Shmi Skywalker could have been lied to. I know it didnt work out this way, but a friend watned it to be this.. Palpatine tells Anakin that Dooku is his father- doesn't really matter whether this is before or after Anakin kills Dooku... so when Luke refuses to kill his father, the impact of this action becomes the impetus for Vader to realize there is some Anakin left in him. Also, this friend of mine considers Jedi the best of the movies because of luke's line: "I am a Jedi, like my father before me." While I don't consider Jedi the best movie ( that would be Empire), that rational keeps me from making fun of his choice of best original SW film.
