The New FARSCAPE movie coming
Watching the previews I don't know what to think. I LOVED THE SHOW (far superior to the other SciFi show Lexx), but something about the previews makes me think it may suck. Hope not.
|
It doesn't look too bad, but the one thing I noticed is that they've changed to look of certain things. Chiana looks way different than before. And another problem I have, is that I hope they don't update all the costumes too much. I prefer the way it was in the show. That was one thing I liked about it, was how the show actually looked like it could be a movie. I dunno, I'm going to keep high-hopes for it. :)

Yea, Lexx was just a sci fi show for virgins that want to hear all they can about sex slaves. Farscape is coming back!!! Lemme just say THANK GOD, or whoever was responsible. I'm going to watch it, and then buy it on DVD.

The fans were responsible. They (we) were so pissed off that it got canceled, and on top of that, canceled WITHOUT an ending, that the people in charge of the show felt they should at least wrap it up for the loyal viewers. :)

Wait, wait, wait, are we talking about an actual Motion Picture or the mini-series in October, cuz if it's an MP, kickass! If not, kickass!
|
Miniseries. Farscape: the Peacekeeper Wars.
|
It came. It saw. It conqured. This is one of the best miniseries of all time IMO. I will be buying the DVD the day it comes out. A truely fantastic way to conclude this chapter of sci fi legend.
Spoiler: The phantom needed not his mask; unto us a baby was born; a lasting peace between the powers is certian; a hero was lost, and his son took his place; the dark knwoledge is gone; a 2001 refffrence!; a fitting end. |
Fanfuckingtastic ending!
Long live Spoiler: D'Argo Crichton! When John and Aeryn named their son after Ka D'Argo and then John held his son up and announced that out there (space, the universe, the stars) was D'Argo's playground, I got chills up my spine and moisture in my eyes. I really enjoyed this mini-series. |
Anyone know where I can find a torrent of this? I got called into work on hour 2 of day 2 and missed it.

I was disappointed. I loved Farscape thought it had humor, a great mixture of pessimis and optimism and characters that just had not been seen on television (in the US at least).
However, this looked like it had been thrown together as far as the writing, the sfx, were worthy of the series as was the acting (most of the time). It was almost as if the writers didn't truly know the characters or the background of the show. There was no humor at all. Chiana had very few lines and truly didn't do much. Rigel had maybe 1 really good line. It was sad to see more time wasn't spent with Crichton and D'argo who have that great buddy chemistry. I do however see the seeds for a sequel....... SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SCROLL DOWN CAUSE i DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THAT WHITE OUT THINGY....... I can see that maybe D'argo is still alive on a scarron or peacekeeper ship and that the sequel will be them looking for him, as we never did see his death, which is always a good sign of a character coming back. Or a sequel set in the future where the Peacekeeper boss bitch's kid starts a new war (and kills John and Aeron) and Little D'Argo must go and avenge their deaths and stop the war. either way I definately see a sequel if the ratings were as good or better than Sci-Fi expected. (Especially now that NBC owns Sci-FI.) |

Excellent, thanks!

farscape was by far my favorite TV series, and the fact that scifi cancelled it so abruptly pissed me off all over the place. at least the story was allowed to be finished (and finished really well.) i'm totally happy with the Peacekeeper Wars. it had everything i loved farscape for: emotion, action, plot, dialogue. however, i still freaking hate the fact that the entire season 5 had to be compacted to 4 hours to tell the end of the story. i can't even begin to think about all the little substories that were left out...
|
Does anyone else think there maybe a sequel?
|
It's a matter for us, the fans, to rally together again and find finfncial support (like we did for peackeeper wars). Thanks to companies like KFC! There are several organizations for the saving of farscape.

I have an idea for one, myself. :D D'Argo Chrichton inherits his father's affinity for finding wormholes and one day while tootling along in his extremely modified, but still recognizable, U.S. shuttlecraft, he goes through a wormhole that leads him to Earth. Once there he finds that due to his living on worlds with heavier atmosphere and higher gravities, he's stronger and has a better constitution than normal Earthmen. And high adventures will ensue when it's discovered a ship followed him through. A few questions: How did D'Argo and Chianna survive in the vacuum of space? What is D'Argo's sword/rifle called,(the offical name) and did he give it a personal name, you know, like Lorraine? :D Did I understand it right when the high priest guy was talking about their ancestors finding the ancestors of the Peacekeepers on the outerrim of the galaxy or something, and then bringing them back and accelerating the Pk's evolutionary process, and that maybe the Peacekeepers used to be Earthlings? Or am I just way off? |
The Mini-series was great and I haven't even watched the show in a while. The good thing is Sci-Fi Channel is at the end of the newer shows and they're about to restart from the first season. Yay! I got TiVo this time around so I won't be missing them!

Ka D'Argo's weapon is the Qualta Blade. You are probably very much on. During the course of the series, the writers made sure that we (the viewer) knew that the humans and sebaceans are very very closely related, almost to the point of being the same species. I think we are supposed to wonder about this, but I wouldn't be surprised that in the next movie we get to find out about our roots. |
