Kingdom Hospital

Did anyone watch this tonight? I have been waiting for this to come on ever since the teasers started appearing a few months ago, and I must say it was well worth the wait!

I first thought that this was just gonna be another mini-series but it appears to be an actual series with more than 4 or 5 episodes.

For any Stephen King fans out there this is a must see series! Finally something to watch on Wednesday nights! Any thoughts or comments out there?

Spoiler: 1. Is that weird ant-eater thing a billy-bumbler from the Dark Tower novels? I think maybe it is!

2. Well not really a question but an observation. Did anyone catch the commercial playing on the wifes TV for NOZZ-A-LA Soda? That is also from the DT novels

I can't wait for next weeks episode!

I don't usually pay attention to the TV, so I had no idea what this was when it came on... boring wednesday night, flipping channels, and I caught the intro to this and was immediatelly sucked in.
very cool. nice characters by good actors, good development. love the theme.
The only thing I did not appreciate was, every time the show went to commercial brake, they gave away the coolest thing comming up in the next segment =P

good show.. I will watch it next week =)

I've watched the original Danish series, and those were some of the coolest television we've had in ages. The Kingdom is so damn spooky, it's great. If you get a chance, watch the Danish show. It's called Kingdom, or Riget in Danish. Even the title music sent chills down my spine...

Agreed. I hoped Lars Von Trier would conclude Riget instead of SK interpreting it. I'll catch it on DVD though as I don't watch TV.

I'm another who saw the original series, in a movie theatre too...

It was some of the best television I've seen. Super creepy. The show starts slow and seems to build up speed and break the walls of sanity as it progresses until it is quick paced and sheer madness...

Excellent!

1. I think you were looking too much into it. It was just an anteater. Considering it ate an ant off the guy's face. lol

2. I just about fell outta my chair when I saw the name of the cola on that truck that stopped. Glad I wasn't the only one who made the link. :D

I saw this the other night and was very pleased. I haven't read the Dark tower series yet, but I'm going to as soon as I finish the other fifteen-or-so books on my list.

Just a few comments:
- I really liked the shots of the guy in his own head - very cool.

- The narration at the beginning felt a bit like Dreamcatcher (much better book than movie), and I liked that.

- Thank god I've got something to watch on wednesday nights.

I will be watching next week.

I didn't realize that this was not an original concept by Stephen King. That being said I still am gonna watch it!

Is this going to be released on DVD? I watched the first couple of episodes but missed out on the rest.

DonnieBoy 10-19-2004 08:58 PM

same here i caught the first two... missed the rest... I never have the time to watch an on-going show like that... thats why I hate miniseries... all of the other SK mini-series have been released on video (well the newer ones anyways) so im hoping this will be out too..

edit... its on amazon
