Stop! Hammer time!
I am an unrepentant fan of comic book movies. I've seen most of the ones Marvel has put out (including the godawful "Captain America" from the 80's) as well as most of the DC ones.
I was pretty excited about "Thor" when I heard the cast. I'm slightly less excited after having seen the trailer. Thor trailers and video clips on Yahoo! Movies This looks like it's not as true to the original Marvel storyline as any of the other movies. Where's Donald Blake? What do you think? |
I really don't know yet. I don't know a heck of a lot about the comic, but from what I do know and from what I've seen thus far, if they went the "realist" route with this, it's going to be a tough one to digest.

You lie, I was expecting Mr. Can't Touch This.
Thankfully I don't know a lot about Thor but this looks really good. |
Kelly, if it helps, I was wearing hammerpants when I wrote the OP.
|
Jazz, please tell me you also did the dance.
|
C'mon, Kelly. That goes without saying, doesn't it? I mean, do I also have to say that I was wearing a vest but no shirt? Geez, get with the program....
Back to the topic, I watched the trailer again and it looks like Natalie Portman may have a bigger role than I originally thought. It's kind of hard to tell, though. It will be interesting to see how they wrap this all up into the multi-movie arch they're building towards with The Avengers. |
Jazz, did you see that Nick Fury movie starring David Hasselhoff, or the Sci-fi channel movie of The Man-Thing? Both dreck.
I read a few Thor comics back in the 70's-80's (in fact, Thor was in a bunch of comics left at my mother's work by one of her patient's grandsons, which she passed on to me), before the Ultimate stuff came out, so I don't know anything about the new-ish stuff. If they get it any where near the early comics, I'll be happy. |
