Oh, man. The fact that this exists has me so very very excited. Except...Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning? Are you SERIOUS? I'm not overly fond of either actress, but if they can pull off Joan Jett and Cherie Currie, I'll take back everything I've said about them. Other cast members include Scout Taylor-Compton as Lita Ford and Stella Maeve as Sandy West (I'll be honest, I've never heard of either of them. Um, the actors, not the band members :p)



In the meantime, I'm off to dream about learning bass some more...and sing Cherry Bomb, since it's stuck in my head now.






Edited to add: Release is set for March 19, 2010, and oddly enough, none of the bassists will be portrayed.

The character selection had me baffled too. But then I do like Dakota Fanning, when she was a kid, like 5-8, I am curious as to her performance now.

Also, cinn, you brought this onto yourself, because I want to riddle you with nostalgia, here, watch this.

It could be the coolest film or the worst... this is just the sort of film where there is no inbetween.

I saw the Runaways in 1976 (?) in Dallas. They opened for the Ramones, if memory serves. I will definitely see the movie.

Xerxys, Almost Famous is a GREAT movie. Highly recommended.

I most certainly want to see this. I want to know just how morally bankrupt those young ladies were.

Which is kind of funny considering my current female band paradigm is Hole, which did all the drugs and has all the crazy. I guess I respect pioneers.
