Saw this new figure at Suncoast. It is Iron Man from the Ultimate comic series. There are more pictures and a review here

Whoops, wrong Iron Man! It looks pretty good, although I'm not familiar with the Ultimate incarnation. His leg joints are a little on the narrow side near his groin though, especially if there's supposed to be a man inside the armor.

Iron Man as in the Marvel Comics Iron Man? I haven't regularly read superhero comics since about 1988 or thereabouts, but--um, he's changed a little since then, hasn't he?

Why make a perfectly cool suit of armor look like a generic Voltron?

Looks very like he's picked up a very Japanese influence to his design. I don't dislike it but I do prefer the sleeker look he had in the 80s.

just letting you know, the iron man movie is in the works.

That looks like every tv robot since Vultran... I no likey.. I would have to vote for a more classic version of Ironman. Anybody know more details about the movie?

Just reading some of the replies here and wanted to explain.

Marvel comics about 2 years ago came out with a new comics line called Ultimate.

Basically it updates the characters by throwing all the old continuity out the window and starting over.

Currently the titles are
Ultimate Spider-man
Ultimate X-men
and The Ultimates (basically an Ultimate Avengers with Cap. America, Thor, Iron Man, etc)

They're pretty good reads and totally worth checking out.

BTW if you like the classics they're still being published so its all a matter of giving you more choice.

Like the classic Iron Man, read Iron Man
Like Manga Iron Man up there, check out The Ultimates.
