ER: Share your memories of the show
 

The episode where Anthony Edwards (Dr. Mark Greene) proposes to Alex Kingston (Dr. Elizabeth Corday) touched me in a way that nothng ever touched me before. If I recall correctly he proposed to her in the kitchen. He said to her, "Will you give me the honor of being your husband?"

This is how I proposed to Skogafoss, I asked her those exact words in Icelandic at Skogafoss.

In college, my wife and I would watch the whole NBC lineup every Thursday in my roach infested apartment. I'd cook dinner. We would both sit at the coffee/dinner table and "veg out" for 2-3 hours. I stopped watching all of those shows long ago. I don't remember many episodes. I did like the episode when Dr. Benton went to work in a rural southern town to make a few extra dollars.

I enjoyed the show in it's first several seasons, but then it kinda jumped the shark for me. A tank rampage by the hospital followed by several bizarre helicopter accidents, and a sniper, and other "the writers are out of ideas" stories. That said, I always enjoyed Clooney and Edwards' performances.

But it never topped St. Elsewhere for me ;) (now I've gone and dated myself).

I'm watching it end as I type this. Not because I watched it that much. I kind of lost touch with TV over the past few years. But it was a wonderful show. And its ending as it should.

St. Elsewhere was spectacular, also.

When Lucy was killed and Carter was stabbed by the Numb3rs dude was such a memorable episode for me. I loved Lucy's character and hated seeing her go out like that.

Of Course, Dr. Romano losing an arm to a helicopter blade, then having a helicopter land on him the next season, right after firing Dr. Morris for smoking pot.

So many great TV moments with this show, It's hard not to just go on forever naming things.

Ah Dr. Romano was the best. His sharp evil tongue made that show so amusing.
Its been years since I've watched ER, so I can't really name a particular moment, but I recall seasons 1-4 or 5 being good enough to watch regularly back then. I watched up to and a little past Dr. Greene's death. Once he was gone (my fave character), it was kinda game over.

I loved watching Romano, and his demise was shocking, but somehow appropriate.

The Lucy/Carter/David Krumholtz(sp?) episode was some of tv's best programming.
Watching Lucy and Carter looking at each other lying on the floor, neither one capable of movement, well, it was wrenching to watch.
I can still picture her face.

I also thought Dr. Green's ending was pretty special storytelling, too.

Was I the only one that had a big smile with Lydia woke up Dr. Morris in the Final episode like she woke up Dr. Greene in the Pilot? :P

Yes. God, yes. That was fucking INTENSE.

The episode where the ER was contaminated with Benzene and evacuated. IIRC Mickey Rooney cameoed on that episode as a Mr. Wizard-type TV personality. I remember Carter, in the cafeteria, using the Diver's Reflex and a bus-tub of icewater to stop a patient's tachycardia and get him breathing again. Great stuff.

Remember the episode they did live? It wasn't all that good an episode, but the technical challenges of it were immense. There was a riot/brawl scene in the middle of it--I remember watching that happen then go to commercial, and just sitting back and marveling at the choreography it must have taken to have that happen live in realtime. And they did it twice, back-to-back, on account of time zones.

The episode where Greene was attacked in the bathroom? And all the "recovery" episodes after that? Wow.

The Ewan MacGreggor episode. Enough said

I watched alot of ER, but the most memorable for me was Dr. Carters 'last' episode the first time around when he came back to the ER and started treating the little girl who'd broken her fingers playing volleyball, only to find out that she was the first baby Carter had delivered in the ER 10 years before.
