Family Guy

Come on guys....let me hear you if you love Family Guy. It is soo awesome! I never laugh as much as I do when I watch that show! Anybody got the box set? It Rules!

moondoggy 04-21-2003 06:31 PM

yeah man that show is great!!! my favorite if petoria with his mc hammer dance and adam west with the toffee!!! lol it's too funny

verminsk 04-21-2003 06:46 PM

and it's just starting back up every night during Adult Swim on Cartoon Network.

Cycler 04-21-2003 07:13 PM

Yeah Adult Swin has made my week now with Family Guy.

heccubusiv 04-21-2003 07:53 PM

I got episodes at a decent quality if anyone wants some they can get them from me

degrawj 04-21-2003 08:05 PM

i also gots episodes too. every single one of 'em. i'm still going to buy the DVD's though, when i get the money.

ironman 04-22-2003 04:03 PM

Family guy rules! Anyone saw that episode with Death? it was simply amazing

BonneFan 04-22-2003 09:21 PM

I just had the DVD delivered...haha...I'm happy..all 28 episodes, cost me $45.

RaZ 04-23-2003 04:37 AM

$45? Ouch

Amazon.com messed up my order so now it's gonna take more time to deliver :(

Grondar 04-23-2003 04:39 AM

I am watching it on Adult Swim, and will probably also buy the DVDs in time.

I have also downloaded all the episodes, but it just isn't the same watching them on my PC..

If the show does well on Adult Swim and the DVD sells well (which it is), it would be great if UPN would pick it up and make new episodes...

RenegadeSoul 04-23-2003 03:36 PM

FG is one of the best cartoons, as is Futurama, wherever it is.

Loup 04-25-2003 04:35 AM

Family Guy, Futurama, The Simpsons - the only shows that I try to watch as much as possible, and they're all cartoons

Has FG boxset been released in Canada yet? Futurama has, but I'm waiting on FG as that's the one I'ld rather plunk my cash into. Too many great episodes with Peter :)

is that the one where peter sends lois on the wild goose chase for their anniversary while he plays golf?, i saw that one recently and just about cried i was laughing so hard

^dude 04-25-2003 07:56 AM

Family Guy is great, that and South Park are the funniest shows on TV (even though FG was cancelled)

fugue_life 04-25-2003 10:37 AM

Anyone know how many official seasons FG had? It seemed to be on steady for about two seasons and then Fox kinda used as a filler for another couple.

Atropos4 04-26-2003 10:47 AM

I liked the show...but I don't think it's a show for kids.
My niece was allowed to watch at age 8....which I just thought was wrong....

MSD 04-26-2003 09:44 PM

"We just made another $500,000,00 each."
"Good thing we swore off women 35 years ago."
"Yeah, you watch the ticker. I'm going to go microwave a bagel and have sex with it."
"Butter's in the fridge."

and who could forget

"I wish I had no bones!"

There are 3 episodes with Death that I know of, one each of the three seasons. The best in my opinion is where Peter claims he is deceased on his records to get out of paying his hospital bill for his breast exam. Death (aka Norm McDonald) then comes to claim Peter leading to a wildly hilarious epsisode.
Its Episode number 13 or Season 2 number 6.

Loup 04-28-2003 06:11 AM

Death is a Bitch
He's Too Sexy For His Fat
E Peterbus Unum

My personal top 3 episodes of FG ... that's some good watching

LordEden 04-29-2003 11:26 AM

I've been watching it on adult swim, I can't wait to see each ep, I missed the first run when it came on tv, so I eagerly await each ep, plus I get one a night and they are new to me :). I love the show!

RaZ 04-30-2003 05:02 AM

Got the DVD set the other day, lot's of great stuff on it :D

username 04-30-2003 04:49 PM

never should have cancelled family guy. never.

"guns don't kill people, dangerous minorities do"--so wrong, but so funny

txd 05-01-2003 02:57 AM

One of the best shows around at the moment, I have the season 1 & 2 box sets, cant wait for the season 3 box set (due out 30/06/03)

cliv 05-24-2003 06:32 PM

Family Guy is one of the best shows Fox (or any network) ever had. I can't understand why those fools took it off the air. It's not like they have lots of great shows to put in it's place.

buffto 05-24-2003 06:57 PM

actually, adam carolla did the voice for death. Says imdb. So, does anyone here watch the aqua teen hunger force? That one is my fav.

buffto 05-24-2003 06:59 PM

oh, wait a minute, norm macdonald did the voice of death for one episode. The four after that were done by adam carolla. Maybe they couldn't afford norm macdonald anymore? If so, that's pretty pathetic

cdwonderful 05-24-2003 07:06 PM

great show! love the baby, the dog and the mom is hot.
c'mere Lois!

Devoid 05-25-2003 12:10 PM

I think there were 4 seasons overall. On Kazaa, the highest episde number was four hundred something, indicating the 4th season. I've got the DVDs, and I'm working on getting the rest on Kazaa to satiate the beast. Oh yeah, and it's the best show ever. Ever. :D

Uuudar 05-25-2003 03:12 PM

best show ever. comedy central or cartoon network adult swim should really pick it up for new episodes. id watch it religiously

LeewaySeabarge 05-28-2003 02:41 AM

I can watch Family Guy for days. Quite possibly the funniest show to ever be on television. Shame they canceled it

soccerchamp76 05-30-2003 07:26 PM

Family Guy should not have been cancelled. Original jokes, hilarious ones that just make you fall out of your seat.

Funny moments: Peter buys a long sports car and drives it into a tunnel, then back in, then back out, thne back in (get the jokes yet?)
The random shit; ie. the family squid; Koolaid Man, etc.
Little House on the Prairie was just damn funny.
All of Stewies comments....pure genius
When Peter is in the attic with Anne Frank and her family and you hear the Nazis yelling for them and Peter is eating crunchy chips.
When Peter licks the rum ice cream and immediately falls drunk

Quadraton 05-30-2003 07:36 PM

No! Family Guy is evil and I hate it, hate it hate it!!!

...
...sniff :(

Oh who am I kidding? I love Family Guy. I have the box set and it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. :)

trouble 05-30-2003 08:43 PM

from reading this i have determined that i must be at the store at precisely 8:59am so i can purchase the dvd set... damn... thats soon... 7 hours of boobies links and then i could go...

Tech 05-30-2003 09:24 PM

just to set the record straight...

1st Season: 7 episodes
2nd Season: 21 episodes
3rd Season: 21 episodes plus unaired episode "When You Wish Upon a Weinstien"
the "4th season" on Kazaa is just people who don't know what they are talking about, they are really from season 3 but are mislabeled

S02E06: "Death is a Bitch" - Norm
S03E06: "Death Lives" - Adam
other assorted death appearances ("Wasted Talent" "Mr. Saturday Night" etc) - Adam

i think my sig speaks for itself though :D

HeAtHeN 05-30-2003 09:31 PM

AH - I miss Family Guy.. just hope some network picks it up

madsenj37 06-01-2003 12:02 AM

I almost never watch Fox except for cartoons. Family Guy, Simpsons, Futurama, they have shaped my world.

soccerchamp76 07-18-2003 10:33 PM

Family Guy

Possibly the greatest cartoon ever...

heard a rumor somewhere that the cartoon was going to have new episodes, anyone here any of this sort?

Gman 07-19-2003 09:11 AM

Hey HeAtHeN, Cartoon Network plays it Monday through Thursday night at 10:30 central time. And if you miss those episodes, you can catch them again on TBS in the afternoon at 1:30 central time.

spectre 07-19-2003 09:50 AM

Family Guy ruled. It's just a shame it was cancelled.

punx1325 07-19-2003 05:59 PM

Does anyone know if Adult Swim is ever going to play new episodes, or were they never made?

hambone 07-19-2003 09:38 PM

I agree with everyone, this is the best show ever.

frankx 07-20-2003 03:58 PM

Family guy rules!!! I will not watch The Simpsons anymore. It's just blah.

theguyondacouch 07-20-2003 04:29 PM

That was the best show ever. Wondered why theyvcancelled it.

darkmagex 07-20-2003 10:21 PM

sportsrule101 07-21-2003 08:44 AM

My first episode was Death is a Bitch,
that episode has messed with my mind
It is the greatest

RelaX 07-21-2003 10:46 AM

Stewie and Brian are so funny... I used to have some of the episodes... before I ran out of room on my HD and had to delete them.... :(

Himbo 07-21-2003 02:06 PM

Alright . . Family Guy . . . great show . . . my gf got me the boxset for my birthday and I couldn't be happier. But there is a new big dog in town his name is TRAILER PARK BOYS!! This is the most creative, witty absouletly piss in your pants hilarious.

H12 07-21-2003 02:13 PM

NEWSWEEK

Suddenly, 'Family Guy'

The former Fox sitcom is a new cult hit on Cartoon Network

July 14 issue - For 10 years, the late-night TV battle has raged between Jay Leno and David Letterman, but at the moment, both of them are getting whipped by a toy-factory worker from Rhode Island named Peter Griffin. (You didn't think we meant Jimmy Kimmel, did you?)

GRIFFIN IS THE star of "The Family Guy," an animated series that lasted just 49 episodes on Fox but has been reborn as a cult hit on Cartoon Network. The show-a bitingly funny send up of family sitcoms featuring a moronic patriarch, a talking dog and a diabolical, British-accented infant boy-is drawing 1 million viewers per episode-topping Leno and Letterman among 18- to 34-year-old men. "I'm not surprised," says Cartoon Network senior vice president Mike Lazzo. "This was one of the few programming no-brainers I've ever had."

It wasn't so clear cut for Fox, which kept switching "The Family Guy's" time slot before finally canceling it last year. By then, the show had amassed a small army of loyalists who'd come to adore creator Seth MacFarlane's taste for obscure pop-culture references, like the Crest Cavity Creeps and the Kool-Aid Man. (You remember-the giant glass pitcher that jumps through walls and yells, "Oh, yeah!" Ah, good times.) The show is now the linchpin of the Cartoon Network's daily "Adult Swim" TV block, and fans have rewarded the move by making it the highest-rated show in the channel's history.

Here's more good news for "Family Guy" fans. During the show's tenure on Fox, MacFarlane's team actually made 50 episodes-one never aired because it was deemed "too controversial" for advertisers. Cartoon Network hopes to air it during the next rerun cycle, which begins on Monday. The taboo subject: religion. Chances are, it's the last new episode we'll get. Lazzo is still trying to relaunch the show, but creator MacFarlane is currently tied up producing a new series. Somewhere the Kool-Aid Man is weeping.

The_Dude 07-21-2003 06:26 PM

i love LOVE that show.

i even watched the first episode, when stui was born!

Fox2020 07-21-2003 10:19 PM

Best. Show. Ever

The reason I bought the first two seasons on DVD. :)

pmb145 07-22-2003 08:28 AM

I love the show, but always get in fights with friends about it. It is not better then the Simpsons!!!!!!!

Gman 07-22-2003 09:15 AM

I think it's better than the current episodes of the Simpsons. To me, the Simpsons are getting a little played out.

The_Dude 07-22-2003 10:26 AM

every single thing that stui said was hilarious and cracked me up.

simpsons is gettin a big dragged out and right now, i'd take family guy over simpsons

wow I just had the realization that Simpons has been on since you were like 8 or so...

Brian Fellows 07-22-2003 11:36 PM

Best Cartoon Ever, if you thought the Simpsons went over the line with stuff, Family Guy went miles past the line.

Arrow 07-22-2003 11:42 PM

when are the rest of the episodes coming out on DVD?

^dude 07-23-2003 02:44 AM

Family Guy is amazing, up there with the simpsons and south park.

absorbentishe 07-23-2003 05:15 AM

Within the last month is when I finally found FG. I love this damn show! The humor is awesome. I've borrowed the box set from my friend, I just don't have enough time in the day to watch all of them.

Dang 07-23-2003 07:57 AM

The Family Guy is one of the funniest shows television has seen, but it cannot be considered among the elite had it not been for The Simpsons. I have watch far too many episoded of The Simpsons in my life and it will always eclipse other primetime cartoons based on longevity and consistency. Folks try to tell me it's no longer funny.....I say tell me of another show on T.V. worth watching for 10 plus years.

LHFire 07-23-2003 09:13 AM

the second volume of Family guy comes out in Sep. here in the states. Fox alsow registered family guy movie domain names.. which could mean a possible movie.. www.planet-familyguy.com for all the news. www.damnyouall.net for the forum.. enjoy..

Aftermath 07-23-2003 01:07 PM

I cursed Fox the day the canceled The Family Guy. I bought the box set the day it came out and will do the same for the next one. I hope I get to see the "new" episode, I work odd hours so I might miss it. = /

MPower 07-23-2003 01:55 PM

THE funniest line from the family guy: Brian "I've licked my share of peanut butter." I almost threw up laughing so hard.

hobo 07-23-2003 10:13 PM

Family Guy is the best comedy I have ever seen. It is the type of show that can cause hysterical laughter and brighten your day. Sure they made a lot of so called "controversial" jokes, but they were jokes and funny at that. They should never have cancelled that show.

lappin 07-24-2003 12:24 AM

Nothing new to say, but yes, it is quite possibly the best show ever.

dogma13554u 07-24-2003 07:15 PM

another show taken off the air before it hit it's prime. So many great gags that no one else had the balls to say elsewhere.

huuge65 07-24-2003 08:29 PM

Family Guy owns, its a shame Fox took it off the air. Well, at least Cartoon Network picked it up.

rockzilla 07-24-2003 08:37 PM

When it first came out, I rapidly dismissed Family Guy as a low-grade Simpsons clone... there's no way any other animated sitcom with a moronic father figure could compete with them when Family Guy was in it's first run. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure it was in the same 'Timeslot of Death' that befell Futurama. (7pm Sunday).

Family Guy didn't stand a chance against The Simpsons, but with The Simpsons going downhill, we need to get our fix elsewhere. I mean FG's alright, it's different than The Simpsons, but not as quite as good.

bocamper 07-24-2003 09:42 PM

Word is there are talks of somebody picking up Family Guy, but Seth McFarlane (Producer and or Creator) is working on another project. Pray it comes back, but the inside jokes are way over too many peoples heads. I think that's why it never got the following. Most of the jokes on The Simpsons are more mainstream (But I still love the show). For that reason, it will never get the ratings to warrant a pick-up, or if it does, a long run.

If it gets picked up, it may be hard to bring back the original voices (Seth Green, Mila Kulis). If it was brought back without the originals, I guess that would make for a good Dick Seargent/Dick York joke, but the show just wouldn't be the same. Let's just enjoy what has been given to us.

BTW, I hope Stewie's plans for world domination come to fruition, cause he would be a great leader! :)

stevie667 07-07-2006 02:55 AM

Well, i just watched season four of family guy yesterday after wbuying the DVD boxset.

I have never, ever laughed so hard in my life. Its so much more agressive than the previous series (i counted the word fuck on at least 4 occasions), but it certainly is funnier.

Buy it now!
