Electric Kool Aid Acid Test

I'm re- reading The Electric Kool Aid Acid Test and just heard the news that there is a movie in the works. Trouble is, I can't find anything solid about it on the net (imagine that!) other than Gus Van Sant is set to direct. I think he could do a fine job with the material. And sooo much cool material...I remember seeing some loosely based Pranksters being portrayed in "Across the Universe" being led around by Kesey/Bono......eeehhh I don't know about all that.

It was over 40 years ago when Kesey and his day-glo band of proto-hippies went tripping across the American landscape, blowing peoples minds.

Anyway, The mighty IMDB revealed that the movie is in pre-production however I need to be an IMDB pro subscriber to see any info. Weird.
anybody know anything?
