here are some of the works i have done this 2005. some vary radically in their style, i am still searching for my own... most of them are oils, acrylic or mix-technique. please tell me what you think..!

...further.
the last 2 paintings i did in january, have strayed from this style very much, as it is clear to see.

I love them... :)

la petite moi 11-28-2005 02:20 PM

It's definitely not my style, but it looks like you put a lot of work into them. Good job. :)

yellowgowild 11-29-2005 02:31 AM

Do they have any meaning behind them?

majik_6 11-29-2005 09:10 AM

Very nice!

Your ability slays me...just when I think I'm getting good with the oils, I run across this thread.

Seriously though, you have an amazing amount of talent. Is this your preferred medium?

jaker 11-29-2005 03:45 PM

majik, i am not very talented with oils at all! i use a lot of mix-technique which brings this affect. to be honest i cannot sit down and paint a waterfall or a realistic landscape, but this does not interest me either.
there is an interesting quotation that i always try to keep in mind, "when you cant make it realistic, make it interesting"
yes, i always enjoy painting, but i work more with photography in the moment.

Oh my God these are amazing. This is some of the best art i've ever seen. Seriously. Would you be willing to sell the second from the top?

jaker 12-21-2005 02:36 AM

wow, thanks willravel :-)
i've been painting more in the past month or so, when i am exhausted i will post another thread with some of the new works, which go more in the direction that you like, i believe.
i would be willing to sell the second one from the top, but i need it in march when i apply to the universität der künste in berlin, i'll keep you posted if you are actually interested.

macmanmike6100 12-21-2005 09:22 AM

i'd buy them!

(short and sweet, and I mean it, too...good luck!)

Does Fed Ex go to Germany?

jaker 12-22-2005 08:06 AM

sure fed-ex goes to germany, but the deutsche post/us post would be much cheaper.
as said, i need them until around march 2006, pm me if you are still interested then.
i will post my newer works soon...

theguyondacouch 12-22-2005 06:04 PM

beautiful work man, I especially like the last 2.

nightshade000 12-29-2005 10:53 PM

I might be interested in buying the first one on the left if it's for sale (in march?) these are really good.

burtsbees 01-16-2006 03:21 PM

i absolutely LOVE the third painting (blue one). Oil painting is often misleading; some think that it's so simple and easy to accomplish. It's not!

Fly 01-16-2006 07:34 PM

i keep comin' back to see this one in particular.

very nice work man

Frankly, that's rubbish! Of course you are very talented! And you are not afraid to express your inner feelings in an abstract way. It's so much more powerful when you take these kinds of risks and just paint your feelings. Much more relevant than simply trying to reproduce a likeness of something or worse still copy photos.

Brilliant! keep up the good work!

It is difficult to appreciate these properly without seeing them in full size but I really like what you have done, especially the second one in your first post. The use of the negative space (white) is very interesting.
