Atypical Sessile 1
 

My Atypical Sessile is actually a Sessile that is changing its place which is definitely atypical of anything defined as rooted :)

I am also posting Sessile Landscape and closeup as well.

those are pretty amazing drawings! i usually consider myself something of a "wordsmithe" (hehe) but still had to look up "sessile." I think your drawings could be complemented by some artificial coloring in Photoshop. Might want to give that a shot :-)

i really like them actually, its amazing how many great artists we have here at the TFP. I really like how u can see something different each time you look at it, its like one of those ink blots. Maybe im crazy. I love it anyhow!

Hello macmanmike6100 - would you then be a mac man? I've had different folks make that colouring computer files suggestion over the years - I don't have the programs at home to do it properly and I don't take the files to work. Maybe I should - I still have the originals anyway. Re your acumen wordsmithe-wise - if you stick with me long enough we'll definitely give that a workout ;) Thanks for your thoughts and words.

Hampshire the idea of the work is to be approachable and explorable - I don't want to present a static piece especially a concept series that is supposed to represent only the face of a much vaster and unknowable source of mystery. So if you see first this and then that I'm getting the job done :) I appreciate your post, thanks.

Actually exile2k4 I was a fan of Ian Miller and didn't know it. I read the Gormengast books 30 odd years ago and have since seen them illustrated with his work and loved it without knowing the man. Thanks for the reference, I googled it and bookmarked his website. He sure likes to detail his stuff eh?

those works are excellent! reminds me of the lord fo the rings. i think they should be placed in a video game or movie.

Tell me where 0energy0, tell me how. Who has names or addresses or a brother who owns a large movie studio? Or sister - I prefer working in coed environments - it smells better and the humour is more textured.

I must be tired - I was going to post a Sessile I finished today but I can't find the browse thing for attachments. Perhaps I need to learn the rules a bit better. Or maybe I just need a godlike being to tell me not to worry because the bag of money fairy is carrying me off to Pixar in a gold stretch Hummer and I'll be posting on a professionally designed personal website with all my stuff ...

Hello folks and thanks for the feedback. Re how they are done thiolith, if you mean the physical creation the first is assorted pencils and graphite, done in one of those cheaper black hardcover 8-1/2" x 11" sketchbooks, main figure standing about 7-1/2" high. The second is pencils and .05 micron illustrator marker 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" with the main figure about 2" tall. I just drew them out of the inner landscape where I have been mulling over the idea of Sessile for a little while. At the risk of contravening TFP artistic posting policy (I posted my artwork here moderators, honestly I did, please oh please be nice) I have a link to an artists forum where I have my original Sessile posts. http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=241937 If you are interested in the non-physical hows and whys there is some writeup there.

Actually Mead I have had a few responses about the compelling nature of the work :) I must be doing it right then, eh?

You know biznatch years ago when the world was getting prepped for the release of the 1st LOTR my brother told me I would be getting lots of comparisons drawn simply because of the nature of what I tend to do and the wide spread visual impact the movie series would have. He sure was right, and that is A OK because dammit Tolkien and the movies are very high end indeed. Thanks again folks.
