portrait of a beauty...2

This is a quick photoshop drawing I did of my girlfriend.

Just seeing what you people think. This is the first chance I have had to do something creative(other than music) in months.

Any critiques are welcomed. I am no pro.

I like it. Quick question. You using a drawing tablet?
I'm thinking about getting one. Thanks

Shane

Nope. I just use an optical mouse, which is an upgrade from my ball mouse. :)

Thanks.

That's pretty good. I'm not an artist...how do you draw something like that with the mouse. Are there tools in photoshop to help you out or is it just patience with drawing with the mouse?

patience... lots of it.
I have an odd way of drawing. I use an impressionistic line style... It is hard to explain it. after I get all of the color where I want it, I blend it with the smudge tool, then layer more lines, blend... repeat....

*EDIT* here is what I think is the final version.

I envy that kind of skill/talent. If I had a shred of patience anywhere I'd be happy...

Rock on man.

thanks :)

I dont know where it came from. The past year I have just been able to draw.

Very good work. I'm envious. Both of your talent...and your subject matter. A very lovely young lady, to be sure. One thing, though, and I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's something almost..."chilling" in it. It could be the angle of her head, or the position of eyes. Especially in the first version.

Thank you.

I do see what you are saying about it being "chilling." I am not sure how that happened except I was trying to make her eyes look deep, but still having the rest of her looking soft.

and Tira_Lee, you know you are way more talented than I. You just dont use photoshop the way I do.

Well, it's true we use PS in different ways. You are very talented at your own unique style where as I am much better with photo manipulations. :D

bernadette 12-18-2004 03:17 PM

you've made her look even lovelier than she really is. she must love your drawing.

i like how you made her earrings become pigtails. adds a little bit of innocent mischievous.
