finally, work i think is EXCELLENT, i really enjoy the second pic you posted...to me the first pic doesn't seem very stable, looks like it's near completion but not quite, don't get me wrong, i really like it, i just feel it's missing something...i also like alot of your work on your website! even though the website itself is mind numbingly boring and some of the links don't work, but that obviously isn't your focus...but in the end, spectacular work!!1

These 2 pictures (and all those on my website) are collages of paintings i've done, photos i've taken and found objects/textures, all layered together on Photoshop. A typical image has around 60-100 layers, although I tend to flatten them off and start working into them again at various points. I've started using a tablet quite recently, but I still tend to prefer scanning/photographing physical drawings a lot of the time as I prefer the quality of the lines you get. Tablets produce very clean lines, and I prefer them slightly random in terms of shape/colour sometimes.

I'm finding a tablet feels more natural for combining elements together than a mouse. One of the things I worry about with my work is having the "this bit's a drawing, this bit's a photo" effect. That works for some people's artwork, but I prefer to blend things together as much as possible as I feel it gives me more control over the composition/artistic side of things.

I've done a BA Hons. in Illustration, and after I finsihed I did quite a few bits of minor work/exhibitions. I wasn't really happy with the work I was doing, so for the past year or so I've just been trying to focus on improving my work. At the moment, i'm looking to do an MA in either Fine Art or Painting, ideally in America (I'm from England).

When I'm exhibiting work, it usually gets printed up around 120cm x 80cm. That's the size it's designed for, and the size I feel happiest at when I'm just doing straight paintings on to canvas.

I wouldn't have guessed they were Photoshop files either. Great work! Personally, I really enjoyed the first image. It has a real sense of motion that really helps to pull you through the image.
