Art as Xmas Gift
My wife insists that I don't buy her anything for Xmas this year (she's sending me on a trip with my friends which will cost more than we usually spend on each other). I picked up some cheap canvases at an Art store and plan on doing some paintings for the house to give to her as a gift. I'll post photos as I finish them.
Two will go side-by-side in the living room, and will be abstract in a style similar to these: http://www.andyhahnstudio.com/photos...stom_010_L.jpg The other two will be a related pair for the bedroom, hanging opposite the bed and flanking the door to the bathroom. I'm thinking of abstract landscapes in a style similar to this: http://www.annestahl.com/images/grass/shenadoh.jpg |
Excellent idea for a Christmas gift. Your wife is a lucky woman.

I'm gonna start the first one tonight. wish me luck
-----Added 13/12/2008 at 10 : 08 : 17----- I did two tonight, one of which I love and one of which i'm completely "meh" on. I'd post photos but I think my wife took the camera with her to Miami (DOH!) Guess I'll have to post them post-Xmas EDIT: Found the Camera I did all 4, though one isn't done http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...ubsFan/lr1.jpg http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...ubsFan/lr2.jpg http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...ubsFan/br1.jpg the final one is a companion to this last one, only with the "sun" sinking below the horizon. Because the "sun" was made by dripping paint, it's very thick and will take a few days to dry. Only then can I finish the "ground" |
I like the last one the best, but I'm partial to landscapes. Great work!

I like that first one, Derwood. I'm no art expert, but the colors just seem to really blend well together. Excellent!
