Metalwork

Not sure if this qualifies as art but it is something I made. It is a fireplace poker made from polished steel w/ hot riveted head and purpleheart handle. The final finish is torch blued and then oiled.

Hey, that's pretty nice. Looks like it could double as a home defense weapon. I've made quite a few things from that source metal but never thought of replacing my godforsaken fireplace implements. The wooden handle is a nice touch.

Thank you!

It is ultimately a part of a set.

People define art in different ways.
Often beautiful objects are disregarded because their beauty is so functional.
Other times people do odd things to themselves or to inanimate objects and then twine words around this activity and declare it to be art.
I see you are a person who crafts beauty, soundmotor. Your work belongs in the TFP art forum. Thanks for sharing, and I hope you show us the detail in the rest of the set as you complete it.

Thank you very much for that. Once the set is completed, I will. My main enemy is time.
