A ninja thread? Sweet!
Your pics have a very Spy vs Spy feel to them. Very cool.

clavus 05-22-2006 08:44 PM

Well, my spies have a very ninja feel to them.

ElP, that is a GREAT ninja.

El Pollo 05-22-2006 10:41 PM

Ooh, nice cabinet artwork. So is that where you store yoiur bombs and dynamite?

clavus 05-23-2006 07:13 PM

That's where I store my paint.

The bomb cabinet has a picture of a paint-can on the door.

I know I've posted him before, but:

My ninja!

These other ninjas are amazing! :D

Those are some pretty sweet ninjas, Hu-man! They've got, like El Pollo pointed out, quite a Spy Vs. Spy feel to them.

Regarding your picture #1; I couldn't help but wonder if you got inspired by the Leasy commercial about spies?

hu-man 06-18-2006 01:49 PM

Hah, actually I hadn't thought about that commercial before you mentioned it ;)

My son found this site tonight and I thought I would mention it here in the spirit of fun, and because I have no ninja drawings to share.

Why is it they always look so much better as the original? Does one really lose that much with scanning?

They will if the scanner is of poor quality or if you don't know the correct settings for a successful scan of a drawing. You can always try adjusting the picture in Photoshop - sometimes you're able to produce a certain amount of "hidden" details that way.

Nice female ninja btw. - I didn't know you could draw! ^_^

I think it's just a poor scanner then, I know it was pretty cheap. I didn't even know they had settings for the way it scans, I'll play with them, thanks. Don't have PS on this computer though, but I may get a chance to play with it if I can get to my Dad's.

Could be, but some are able to deliver decent results all the same. Try re-scan your drawing with the following settings:

Histogram:
http://journalism.berkeley.edu/multi.../Picture-8.jpg
Any scanner software comes with a histogram; it is a representation of an image derived by counting the ‘color’ of each pixel.
The first arrow indicates shadows, The second; Midtones and the third; highlights.
Normally you’re suppose to drag the first and last to where the graph begins in order to bring together as much information as possible (you need to do this because once you’ve scanned the drawing, Photoshop can’t make up color information that isn’t there from the beginning) but you may find that you have to drag them even further or less than that to get a satisfying result; since each picture/drawing is unique so must their position be. Try experimenting with them - especially the one with the Midtones; it’ll enhance the details of the lines in your drawing.

Resolution: 72 ppi

Type of original: Gray

Thanks, Nancy!

Nancy 06-24-2006 07:24 AM

No problem, Zeraph - I hope the result will be neat ^_^
