The Ideal Date
...Can you remember a particularly awesome
date you had or have you imagined what an ideal date would be? ...it doesn't have to be THE most awesome date...just one of. I picked this one below to show that it doesn't have to cost much to have an awesome date ...one i remember was an all day bicycle tour through the countryside of Virginia's historic James River plantations outside of Williamsburg. We had a map of the plantation locations so it was like a treasure hunt. Some of the plantations were open and indigenous goodies were offered for tasting and refreshment before heading off to the next plantation. Who knows how many miles we covered but it was a good workout (fairly level terrain which was so pleasant) interspersed with fascinating rest stops steeped in history and charm. Lots of laughter, good chemistry, perfect weather. Later, we showered (not together...i know you were wondering...hehe), slow-danced alone in the livingroom barefoot, and dined in. Some neck/shoulder/leg massages were shared as we were sore from the days trek...or at least i was.

My most perfect date to date (hehe) was an afternoon I spent with a former lover. We met for lunch when I was in his city. He'd just come from a work meeting, so he was in a suit and tie. I knew he was just coming from a meeting, so I decided to wear a dress and heels. (black and white polka-dotted dress with red patent leather belt and red patent leather peep-toe pumps, to be exact) We had drinks with lunch, and decided to go have a cocktail at a nearby bar. One drink turned into several as we sat at the bar and shot the shit for the entire afternoon. I don't know if it was the luxurious feeling of getting pretty drunk on a Friday afternoon or the romance of the city or the chemistry between us, but it was one of the best afternoons of my life.
My ideal date would have a lot of the same qualities--the kind of date where time slips away and it ends up lasting much longer than you originally anticipated. I would definitely laugh as much as I did that day. I would look as beautiful as I felt that day. And I would definitely have the same butterflies-in-the-stomach feeling I had. Perhaps there would be less booze, and I'd definitely be able to book a second date....but a lot of the same elements would be in place.

My perfect date was with my husband. Without telling me he had his mom come over to watch our daughters. Then we went threw the drive threw at KFC, got a bucket of chicken (my favorite) and went to the drive-in movies. It was so much fun and didn't spend that much money. It was just good to get out of the house and get a break from the kids. It didn't have to be really romantic, it was just a chance for us to spend time together.

I had one of these on Saturday
We had an adventure to Centre Island planned, and the weather was perfect. Sunny blue skies, with a little breeze and all the time in the world. We woke up late in the morning and started the day with lazy-morning sex. Perfect after a night of sexy dreams. Sometime just after noon, we emerged, and went to Cora's for a big healthy breakfast to precede our day of "unhealthy" illegal consumables. We walked down to the pier, but we didn't realize that the ongoing worker's strike would shut down the ferries. We considered not going to the island, but I'm very thankful we payed the extra $10 each to get across: The island was empty. We sat on a bench by the water and tripped in the shade, watching the trees and boats and birds as we giggled and kissed. It became cool, so we walked to the sunny beach on the Southern side. We sat on the pier overlooking the lake, and were happier than what seems possible. We tried play chess in the park, but I couldn't remember the rules. We laid down on the rocks, and I slid my hand up his shorts as we kissed. We stopped when a family came close, but were able to keep playing as it grew dark and the last few people left. I was brave from the delerium and arousal, and I took him into my mouth. Despite everything, we didn't climax yet. It was cold after dark and we had woken up from our dreaming. We smoked a joint to steady ourselves, and took a fast boat ride home. The driver played bad porno music, and the other couples seemed to enjoy the ride as if it were a cruise. We giggled and laughed as I was sprayed by the lake. We got home, tired and aroused, and ate pizza and fucked and slept. The perfect lazy burnt-out evening after the perfect exalted delirious day.

It started on Friday, when a box arrived for me. 12 long-stemmed roses with a romantic card from him. My boss saw the delivery and gave me the smirk. I just grinned like an idiot in response.
He was working Friday night so he drove to my house after his shift. He got there by midnight and handed me a bag. In it, were some very nice chocolates, a sweet card and a heart necklace of art glass on a silk cord. I thanked him appropriately and we fell asleep in one another's arms. Morning was more of the same before he relented and told me what the plans were: late lunch in the North End (Little Italy), a room at the Hyatt overlooking the Boston skyline, romantic dinner at the hotel and a brunch on Sunday. And yes, it was all as heavenly as it sounds.

Honestly? Doesn't matter what you're doing... just depends on who you're with. Two awesome ones I've had recently:
We met for drinks. He bought the first two rounds, I bought the third. We sat and talked for hours, and ended with kissing in the rain. For the record, that's pretty much the hottest thing ever. Second wasn't even really a date. We were hanging out at the bar, and I gave him a ride home. We sat in my car and talked for an hour, then got out and played an impromptu game of tag. Kissed in the middle of the street, then he tackled me on his front lawn. Good times ![]()

He wraps us tight in an oversized blanket because i'm seriously blowing away. Our hair is wildly blowing every which way and slapping our faces (he had an amazing head of hair...which is all wet by now...he was a real hottie). I think my favorite dates are when he and I get all dressed up for one of our birthdays and go to Ruth's Chris. Food is delicious and we don't care about money that one night and order whatever we want.
Or... A day at Disneyland followed by a dinner at Steak House 55.

I like simple dates. Don't get me wrong, I love to be wined and dined on occassion, but I'm easily pleased.
I went on a date last week, which was great. We went to dinner (nothing too expensive), and after we finished eating, he asked me what I'd like to do. I suggested we go to a bar I know, have some drinks, and play some pool. I love playing pool. After a few drinks I put some music on the juke box, and to my joy, they had a few Red Hot Chilli Peppers songs on there. We were both a bit... uh, merry, and eventually I got him to have a little silly dance with me around our section of the bar (it was late, and there were only a few other people in there). Anyone who isn't afraid to be a bit silly is automatically in my heart. On our way back to his we got completely drenched from the rain. We were both absolutely freezing when we got inside, and he told me that I could take a nice, warm shower if I wanted to, and he'd get me some dry clothes. So, I took a shower. And, I took him with me. Good date. ![]() |

I also like nights where we just walk around to the various upscale bars in town and drink fancy cocktails. Usually we end up at the above fancy restaurant for dessert and coffee.

*** Scroll Up if you missed the "Kissing in the Rain" photos above...HOT!***
.....i just added another one below these photos (the rain and drops are suppose to be moving...GIF isn't working) ...recently, i had an incredible afternoon with great guy in Raleigh, NC. First we went to a Tuscan restaurant named Caffe Luna for lunch. The lunch prices were soooo reasonable and yet are the same quality and quantity as dinner. For only $8.75 (and there was enough for 2 meals), i had "Taglierini del Golfo" (fresh Pasta Saute in Cream with Shrimp, Peas & Red Peppers...yummm...but very rich) and only could eat half. I took home the rest for another meal later. I also had a glass of pinot grigio. There were Tuscan paintings everywhere that were done by the owners wife. The owner stopped by our table for an enchanting chat. ...after lunch we walked across the street to the IMAX Theater and saw "Greece". I felt like i'd been to Tuscany and Santorini all in a day. It was an awesome movie. ...lastly, we walked across the park to the art district and viewed a few art galleries along the cobbled street (see last pic below). Good weather, good conversation, good chemistry, lots of eye contact...all good. Did i mention he has bedroom eyes...mmm.
