The Bitch is Back!

Hello darlings-
I just wanted to say hello--I've been posting quite a bit in the past 24 hours, but I did want to make a formal re-introduction of myself to the community. I was an active TFPer in my early years of college. I left for no particular reason....I moreso just got out of the habit. I want to thank those of you that have warmly welcomed me back into the fold. I've missed being a part of this community.

Four and a half years have passed....last night, I read through some of my old posts, and was amazed. So much has changed...and so much has stayed the same. The same can be said about the TFP. I'm so glad to see a lot of people still here from before, and look forward to making new friends.

Just a little bit about me; I'm a 24-year-old law student and Democratic activist. That being said, I don't know that I'll be posting a lot on Tilted Politics, just because I spend so much of my life discussing that issue. My social life, my professional life, hell, my media consumption, even my grocery list, are all guided by my politics. Sometimes a gal needs a break. I'm single, no kids, and have three cats. (insert obvious cat lady joke here).

So anyhow....I look forward to many lively conversations with you all.

Love,
Sabrina

Welcome back! We definitely remember you.

filtherton 10-24-2008 07:00 AM

Law school, eh? How's that going?

Welcome back.

jewels 10-24-2008 07:00 AM

Nice to meet you. Welcome home!

Bill O'Rights 10-24-2008 07:01 AM

Welcome home, Sabrina.

All to often, long dormant threads are brought back to life, and I see names of members that I have not seen in a very long time. It's good to see an old familiar name with some new posts behind it.

Tonight, perhaps, I'll pop some corn and put on an old Audrey Hepburn movie, in your honor. (that, and I just like old Audrey Hepburn movies) Maybe Charade. I haven't seen that one in awhile.

Not bad, now that I'm a third year. First year, I readily and eager admit, was the worst year of my life. Now...well, things are much better. For me, the key to survival is making sure you have balance in your life; man cannot live by law alone!

And thank y'all so much for the warm welcome.

*kisses*

I was wondering. It seems like returning to the time sink that is the tfp while in law school might be problematic. Then again, I've heard the third year is a good time to brush up on your frisbee skills.

Hello, nice to meet you.

Cynthetiq 10-24-2008 09:50 AM

Glad to see you again!!!

Welcome back!

Baraka_Guru 10-24-2008 09:58 AM

Hey, welcome back!

You were before my time, but that's okay; it means we can both start off on a clean slate. It means we can go forth while on the same page. No preconceptions, no histories, no prejudices.... This could be the start of something grand. :)

*quietly slinks off to dig up SabrinaFair's old posts*

I spent most of law school on the TFP and I didn't come out half bad. The myth is a lot worse than the reality.

Either way, welcome back to our exciting, not at all crazy, very normal home away from home.

What does a political grocery list constitute?
Preamble: I, the law student, in order to form a more perfect diet, establish breakfast, lunch, a sensible snack, and dinner, so that I may secure the blessings of nourishment for me an my roommates, do establish this shopping list.
Article 1: Vegetables....

Welcome back.

Daniel_ 10-24-2008 10:35 AM

Well, you're named after two of my favourite movies, so that's a plus.

Glad to meet you. :)

Did I breach your Bill of Roast?

SabrinaFair 10-24-2008 12:37 PM

Willravel-
I wish I was witty enough to write a such a jazzy grocery list. No, it's more like, "I should buy this product because it's union made" or "I like this product, but they give a lot of money to this cause I don't believe in"....

tecoyah 10-24-2008 01:18 PM

Welcome back....you are well remembered

That's certainly admirable. And time consuming. Do you ever farm out the work (no pun intended)? In other words, are there any websites or periodicals that help you in your efforts to spend responsibly? I'd be interested.

Thank you, love. But I'm not that admirable in the execution thereof--I mainly rely on word-of-mouth and things I run across. I don't research every brand I buy. Like you said, very time consuming. But when I'm informed, I try to make the decision that best fits my political ideology.

My biggest issue in consumer politics is buying local. Luckily, Kentucky is REALLY good at branding their own products--there's a "Kentucky Proud" initiative from the Dept. of Agriculture, and they label everything from produce to barbecue sauce. Between that, farmer's markets, and my mama's garden, I buy a lot of local products.

Buying organic (real organic), buying local, avoiding superstores and fast food chains... there's really only so much one can do. Intent has to count for something, though. The union thing is a good idea.

CinnamonGirl 10-27-2008 11:07 AM

*waves* Welcome back. And a big "w00t!" for buying local.

Amaras 11-10-2008 05:50 AM

Sabrina, after having reviewed many of your posts, I'm sorry, but I judge that the title of
your thread does not apply. You are judged as being in violation of the "you are a
sweetie" statute.
You are hereby fined $20 TFP dollars and must read every political post as your punishment.
Do you have anything to say to the court at this time?

SabrinaFair 11-10-2008 09:26 AM

The defendant wishes to make the following statement:
In attempting to be cute and witty, the Defendant has apparently made an improper thread title. She apologizes to the community for improper titling. :-)

JStrider 11-10-2008 04:11 PM

I remember you... welcome back!

From precedent this court finds you to definitely be witty. As to cute, we need photographic evidence. You may provide some here if you so choose:
http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/tilted-...ing-now-d.html.
You may peruse photos of your fellows who come before this court, as well.

SabrinaFair 11-10-2008 04:51 PM

Evidence submitted, counselor. Defense also refers you to here and here for further evidence.
