Well said! Although having money helps to pay the bills, my student loan, buy a house, a car, and cool stuff which decrease my financial stress from NOT having money, which in turn makes me happier. Hehehe :D

Lawrence: Well you don't need a million dollars to do nothing, man. Just take a look at my cousin, he's broke, don't do shit.

Phredgreen, I noticed you included the lab trailor with the maximog. Good call.

I really don't want that much stuff. I want the cash to travel. But I would like a small condo at this resorton Maui, which may be my favorite place on the planet.

Straight from my favorite movie--Office Space! :D:thumbsup:

If money were no object for me, I'd buy the largest piece of land I could find on the south side of my town, build a large home, start a private school for conservatives' children, join the country club so I could golf whenever I felt like, buy a better building for my church, and then just chill and live life.

raeanna74 06-01-2003 06:15 PM

I'd want a large Diamond and Sapphire Necklace. Not just a single carat either. Diamonds still are a girls best friend. :D

Umm, sweetie...hate to disappoint you, but that probably isn't going to be happening any time soon! Sorry.

I'd be tempted to buy a house in one of the ritzy new sub-divisions on the edge of town, and then invite the homies from our neighborhood over to hang out, just to scare the neighbors. And start driving my '82 F150, with the disintigrating bed, on a daily basis.

Willowsr 06-01-2003 07:00 PM

Damn... ya gotta ask the hard questions don't ya? I think phredgreen pretty much summed it up for the decedant side of me... now... the other part of me... I'd sell all the shit I just bought... and since money was no object... I'd pay every damn teacher 2x what they're currently making... build better schools... then start spending money to feed, cloth and house the millions of homeless and marginal people in this 'great nation' of ours...

* Design my own Estate.
* Lingenfelter Twin Turbo Corvette
* Get my laser eye surgery
* Get my tooth bonding fixed
* Pay off my relative & best friends bills
* Create a new IT consulting firm
* Do the TFP up right. (HW wise)
* And have a huge TFP adventure during Festival in Brazil
(after a cruise down there with all the regulars)
* Travel the world, go to all the interesting places and do it up right.
* Start getting personal trainer for Martial Arts
* Get a personal tutor for Guitar, Piano & Drums
* Go to as many of the concerts I want (with backstage passes)
* Set up a very large art studio and a gallery for it in NYC.
* A right-hand man/woman to remember, the little stuff for me & arrange things.

And when I get tired of all that...
* Believe it or not, go back to College...
and get my PhD in Physics, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Mathematics.
Or at least one doctorate and the learning equivalent in personal training.
* And then set up my own lab.:)

And in that meantime of having all that fun,
a sweet lady will hopefully decide to hang around.

Troublebot 06-02-2003 05:57 AM

Houses for myself, Mom and Sister
Big ass motorcycle for Dad.
Anything my best friend wants.
A farm house way out in the country for me with lots of outbuildings I can convert into a recording studio, garage, weight room, etc.
Donations to organizations I really care about
Finally, I'd pay Anna Nicole Smith to do anything, other than continue that damn tv show. Holy crap is that bad.

Who lives there anyway? I have seen that (and other Wright buildings) before but its a house. Someone paid for that.

As for me. I would like a nice house ($200,000 ish). Decent car. ('03 Jetta?) and to travel alot. I would also buy a house for my mom and sisters. Wouldn't for my dad only because I think he would end up going into debt, selling it and then going deeper in debt. He is quite bad with money. Thats about all I really want. I would put various neat things in my house. Not for my own amusement so much as to have have parties :D A few choice arcade machines would be nice (A few DDR machines, The old simpsons arcade machine, old x-men arcade machine, pool table, air hockey and atleast one racing game were you can race like 4 people at a time)

As I read this, I am rotting on hold, waiting for Alienware's "award winning service" to simply pick up the damn phone. This is my umpteenth call. I'v been waiting 15 minutes, and figure I have another 30 to go before someone picks it up...unless I go over the hour mark where their award-winning customer service automatically dumps you into award-winning voicemail and tells you to call back some other time.

Fuckin' alienware. If you had unlimited money, you'd hire Bill gastes to come to your house and build you a PC.

Haha. I find this particulary funny because I work in a call center. One that actully got the J.D. Power award for customer service last year. We still don't give a fudge (although compared to other companies we really do but you wouldn't know it talking to the customers)

I must give mad props to the Office Space reference :)

and am I the only one to find the Tropical Island incredibly humorous?

I think I would just like to be able to pay off my parents bills, finish building their retirement home and give them enough money (~5million) to retire and be happy the rest of their lives.. They have earned it.

Then with whatever is left, goto school at a bit slower pace for subjects I am interested in, buy a tropical island with its own internet access, start up my own community there.

granted, lots of kinks to work out in that last paragraph, but I really don't plan on doing this anytime soon so why think about it now?

/edit And alienware seems like they make the most powerful laptops, but if I were to get one of those, I think I would actually want one with a battery life as well so I could take it on trips and do simple tasks without having to be plugged in :) maybe it is just me

Sun Tzu 06-02-2003 09:27 PM

If money was truly no object then get everything everyone has asked here for them; there should be more than enough to go around.

Invest enough money to get a Russian manned flight to Mars, with me on board as an observer / passenger / cosmonaut. (I say Russia because the US wont let anyone outside the program go--with certain excpetions ie good public figures. Russia will take anyone if you pay them)

The same for a trip to the moon.

Go see the Titanic

Produce and Direct movies

Bring the Ark of the Convenent into the public light

Buy 3000 acres of land (Montana), build a moderate 3 story house with an observatory on top and a vast 20 story underground complex with enough supplies to keep 6 families well for 200 years. (6 just popped into my head)====just incase.

invest into homeless teen and troubled youth programs where they are seperated from mainstream society and taught martial arts for a period of weeks. (Like Muay Thai kickboxing camps in Thailand or Band of the Hand . . etc)

invest into various other research areas such as cancer

Take private lessons from Dan Inosanto

If I wasnt married or had a girlfriend either find two beautiful materialistic women and see what that is all about; or hire a $300,000 escort for the night.-----guilty pleasure what can I say

bundy 06-02-2003 09:58 PM

Wow. Dude you sooo do not need 5 million dollars to retire. If you had about 1.3. Probably invested. They could live a very nice life the rest of their lives.
